Teen To Be Charged For Abandoning Newborn In Delco: Police

A juvenile will face charges after abandoning her newborn baby girl in Upper Darby, police said.

UPPER DARBY, PA — After being released from the hospital and taken into Delaware County Children and Youth Services care, the mother of the newborn baby found abandoned in Delco has been identified.

According to Upper Darby Police, a juvenile has been identified as the girl's mother.

Police said the mother has been offered help, but will face charges.

The newborn baby girl was found left alone on a porch on the 100 block of Englewood Road in Upper Darby Tuesday, July 30.
