Altered Checks, DUI, Vandalism, More: Haverford Crime Blotter

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Haverford Township issued their weekly crime blotter Wednesday.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Sept. 21 and Sept. 27.

The blotter also includes arrests made and citations issued.

INCIDENTS

• Thefts at the unit block of Upland Road on Sept. 21 at 4:36 a.m. – Nine vehicles were entered – 32-year-old male was arrested.
• Forgery at the 100 block of West Hillcrest Avenue on Sept. 21 at 2:42 p.m. – Two checks were altered and cashed after they were mailed.
• Criminal Mischief at Veterans Field, unit block of West Manoa Road, on Sept. 21 at 11 p.m. – graffiti was discovered.
• Retail Theft at Kohl’s, 200 block of West Chester Pike, on Sept. 22 at 10:40 a.m. - 3 subjects stole approximately $1,000 worth of merchandise.
• Theft at Haverford College, 300 block of Lancaster Avenue, on Sept. 22 at 2:25 p.m. – A laptop was stolen from a storage room.
• Forgery at the 400 block of East Township Line Road on Sept. 22 at 11:30 a.m. – A check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.
• Forgery at the 100 block of Campbell Avenue on Sept. 22 at 1:30 p.m. – A check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.
• Identity Theft at the 100 block of Myrtle Avenue on Sept. 22 at 2:04 p.m. – The victim reported that someone used his identity to withdraw $5,070 from his bank account.
• Forgery at the 200 block of Sagamore Road on Sept. 23 at 4:45 p.m. – A check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.
• Identity Theft at the 200 block of Lee Circle on Sept. 23 at 5:06 p.m. – Victim reported that someone used her identity to open a bank account.
• Liquor Law Violation, 200 block of Mill Road, on Sept. 23 at 7:50 p.m. – Two 16-year-old males were cited for underage drinking.
• Bicycle Theft at the 1300 block of West Chester Pike, on Sept. 24 at 6:20 p.m.
• Forgery at the 100 block of Kathmere Road on Sept. 24 at 1:10 p.m. – A check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.
• Theft at the Quadrangle, 3300 block of Darby Road, on Sept. 25 at 2:43 p.m. – Victim reported silver rosary beads were stolen from her room.
• Theft at the 500 block of Upland Road on Sept. 25 at 12:49 a.m. – A political sign was stolen from a lawn.
• Criminal Mischief at the 800 block of Biddle Street on Sept. 25 at 10:09 a.m. – Vehicles were keyed.
• Vandalism at the 100 block of Campbell Avenue on Sept. 25 at 7:23 a.m. – A flagpole was torn off the porch.
• Retail Theft at Big Bang Smoke Shop, unit block of West Eagle Road, on Sept. 26 at 5:11 p.m. – Four juvenile males stole $449.60 worth of merchandise and fled.
• Theft at the 300 block of Edgehill Road on Sept. 27 at 8:33 p.m. – Registration plate was stolen from a vehicle.
• Forgery at the unit block of Annabella Avenue on Sept. 27 at 7:04 p.m. – A check was altered after it was mailed. The actor attempted to purchase a vehicle with the check.
• Forgery at the unit block of Derwen Drive on Sept. 27 at 9:53 a.m. – A check was altered and the actor attempted to cash the check after it was mailed.
• Forgery at the 500 block of Valley Road on Sept. 27 at 2:27 p.m. – A check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.
• Fraud at the 300 block of Strathmore Road on Sept. 27 at 7:12 a.m. – Victim reported that someone cashed a check from her bank account.
• Forgery at the 400 block of East Township Line Road on Sept. 27 at 9:34 p.m. – A check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.

ARRESTS

• 31-year-old male, 200 block of Bayberry Lane, Upper Darby. Charges: Retail theft, receiving stolen property and possession of drug Paraphernalia. Location: Giant, 100 block of Township Line Road. Date: Sept. 21 at 7:40 a.m.
• 33-year-old male, 200 block of Bayberry Lane, Upper Darby. Charges: Retail theft, receiving stolen property, resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia. Location: Giant. Date: Sept. 21 at 7:40 a.m.
• 32-year-old male, 800 block of Goshen Road, West Chester Charges: DUI and careless driving. Location: West Chester Pike and Manoa Road. Date: Sept. 21 at 2:22 a.m.
• 32-year-old male, unit block of Ardmore Avenue, Upper Darby. Charges: Theft from motor vehicles, possession of marijuana, loitering and prowling at night and disorderly conduct. Location: unit block of Upland Avenue. Date: Sept. 21 at 4:36 a.m.
• 39-year-old male, Homeless. Charges: Loitering and prowling at night and possession of drug paraphernalia. Location: unit block of Bennington Road. Date: Sept. 21 at 2:05 a.m.
• 53-year-old male, 3800 block of Folsom Street, Philadelphia. Charges: Retail theft and false identification to law enforcement. Location: Giant, 100 block of West Township Line Road. Date: Sept. 26 at 10:35 a.m.
• 47-year-old male, 2300 block of Kenilworth Road. Charges: Contempt for Violation of Order. Location: 400 block of Llanerch Avenue. Date: Sept. 27 at 12:34 p.m.
• 17-year-old male was petitioned to juvenile court. Charges: DUI, duties at a stop sign, junior license and underage drinking. Location: North Manoa and Naylors Run Roads. Date: Sept. 25 at 1:11 a.m.
