Armed Person Taken Into Custody Monday Outside Havertown Store

Police said the person was found with a loaded handgun and was wanted for threatening a family member in Upper Darby.

HAVERTOWN, PA — Police in Haverford Township took an armed person into custody Monday after an incident at a grocery store.

According to police, the incident occurred at 3:12 p.m. Monday at Giant, 116 W. Township Line Road in Havertown.

Police were called to the store for a person armed with a loaded handgun outside the business.

Once police showed up, the person was taken into custody and the gun was recovered.

According to police, the person was wanted out of Upper Darby for threatening a family member.

The person was taken to Crozer Hospital for a mental health evaluation, police said.
