Armed Robbery At Town Tap In Haverford, Police Seeking Suspects

Town Tap on West Benedict Avenue and its patrons were robbed at gunpoint on Jan. 4 and police are asking for help identifying the suspects.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — A Haverford bar as well as its patrons were robbed at gunpoint last week and police in the township are asking for help identifying the suspects.

According to police, at about 11:29 p.m. on Jan. 4, officers were called to the Town Tap on the first block of West Benedict Avenue for a report of a robbery.

Police said two men armed with handguns came into the bar at about 11:24 p.m. and demanded to be taken to the safe.

One suspect was taken to the manager's office by an employee who he held at gunpoint and got cash that he put in a bag while the second man took all patron and all employee cell phones.

Police said the pair were last seen running on Benedict Avenue towards the Oakmont Fire Company.

The first suspect was described as black man about 6 feet tall with a slender build. He was wearing black colored female burka-type attire and a black dress.

The second suspect was described as a black man standing 5 feet 4 inches tall with a stocky build. He was wearing a black hoodie, black sweatpants, and a ski mask.

Both suspects wore gloves and were armed with black semi-automatic handguns during the robbery, police said.
