A resident was targeted by a computer scammer, sending the scammer gift cards and cryptocurrency, according to police. See details here.
HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA â Police in Haverford Township issued their newest crime blotter recently.
Incidents in the blotter occurred between March 8 and March 21.
The blotter also includes arrests made and citations issued.

- Retail Theft at Giant,100 block of W. Township Line Road, on March 8 at 2:45 p.m. â An unknown male stole approximately $400.00 of personal care items and fled the store.
- Theft at Utility Advisory Group,100 block of N. Eagle Road, on March 8 at 9:52 a.m. â Two checks were altered and cashed after they were mailed.
- Fraud at Loweâs,100 block of W. Township Line Road, on March 8 at 3 p.m. â An unknown male used a stolen credit card to purchase gift cards.
- Attempted Burglary at Builder Inc., unit block of Raymond Drive, on March 9 at 12:21 p.m. â Forced entry was gained through a rear door that led to a hallway. The main door to the business was not accessed.
- Retail Theft at Acme,1300 block of West Chester Pike, on March 9 at 11:57 a.m. â An unknown male stole laundry detergent and body wash.
- Theft at the 400 block of Steel Road on March 9 at 10:20 a.m. â Victim reported several pieces of mail had been taken out of her mailbox.
- Fraud at the 300 block of Ardmore Avenue on March 9 at 6:20 p.m. â Victim reported that someone accessed his Amazon account and purchased an iPad.
- Theft at the 200 block of Fawn Lane on March 10 at 8:12 a.m. â Unlocked vehicle was entered â A briefcase containing tax documents and credit cards was stolen. Fraudulent activity was reported on the credit cards.
- Theft at the YMCA,800 block of N. Eagle Road, on March 10 at 5:26 p.m. â Unlocked vehicle was entered â a wallet was stolen.
- Retail Theft at Kohlâs,200 block of West Chester Pike, on March 13 at 11:19 a.m. â Loss prevention officer observed an unknown male exit the fitting room wearing layers of clothing under his clothes.
- Theft at the 1600 block of Surrey Lane on March 13 at 7:48 a.m. â A hydraulic hammer attachment valued at $5,000.00 to $11,000.00 was stolen from a job site.
- Vandalism at the 1500 block of Darby Road on March 13 at 4:30 p.m. â Storm door was kicked in.
- Theft at Haverford College,300 block of Lancaster Avenue, on March 14 at 3:49 p.m. â Two water heaters valued at $1,200.00 each were stolen from a locked garage.
- Motor Vehicle Theft at the 2500 block of Belmont Avenue on March 14 at 9:31 p.m.
- Retail Theft at Loweâs,100 block of W. Township Line Road, on March 15 at noon â An unknown male stole three battery packs valued at $389.88.
- Theft at the 700 block of Wynnewood Road on March 15 at 5:57 p.m. â Victim reported that his computer froze and a message was displayed providing him with a phone number. He was advised to withdraw $6,000 and obtain gift cards. He sent the gift cards and also sent crypto money through Bitcoin to the phone number provided. The victim recognized the scam when his computer didnât unlock.
- Attempted Retail Theft at Loweâs,100 block of W. Township Line Road, on March 15 at 8:56 a.m. â An unknown male placed seven ceiling fans on a lumber cart and attempted to leave the store without making payment. The suspect left the merchandise and fled when he was confronted by the loss prevention officer.
- Attempted Burglary at the 500 block of N. Eagle Road on March 16 at 8:03 a.m. â Garage window was shattered â nothing was reported missing.
- Fraud at Direct Paint and Collision,1000 block of N. Eagle Road, on March 17 at 2:33 p.m. â Someone attempted to fraudulently cash employee checks.
- Theft at the 400 block of College Avenue on March 18 at 9:05 a.m. â Victim reported two pocket doors, table saw and a 10-foot Break valued at approximately $5,500 was stolen from a job site.
- Retail Theft at Kohlâs,200 block of West Chester Pike, on March 19 at 7:39 p.m. â Loss prevention officer reported that an unknown woman walked out with a shopping cart full of merchandise.
- Theft at the 400 block of Earlington Road on March 19 at 5:08 p.m. â Victim reported that someone gained access to his bank account and made a transfer.
- Theft at the 2100 block of County Line Road on March 20 at 5:27 a.m. â Catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle.
- Retail Theft at Fine Wine and Good Spirit on March 20 at 7:38 p.m. â An unknown male stole a $33.39 bottle of Tequila.
- Disorderly Conduct at the unit block of Garlor Drive on March 20 at 3:30 p.m. â 28-year-old male, unit block of Garlor Drive was cited for disorderly conduct and harassment.
- Theft at the unit block of Downs Circle on March 21 at 2:38 p.m. â Catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle.
- Identity Theft at the 700 block of Homestead Avenue on March 21 at 9:30 a.m.â Victim reported that someone used his identity to open a credit card account.
ARRESTS
- 47-year-old male, unit block of N. 62nd Street, Philadelphia. Charges: DUI and possession of marijuana. Location: Wynnefield Drive and Eagle Road. Date: March 10 at 1:08 a.m.
- 19-year-old male, 2000 block of Woodbrook Drive, Wilmington, Delaware. Charges: DUI, reckless driving, unregistered vehicle, carrying false identification and underage drinking. Location: S. Eagle and Steel Roads. Date: March 10 at 2:48 a.m.
- 40-year-old male, 3700 block of Woodland Avenue, Drexel Hill. Charges: PFA violation. Location: 100 block of Flintlock Road. Date: March 13 at 10:25 a.m., incident occurred on 3/10.
- 35-year-old male, 7000 block of Aberdeen Road, Upper Darby. Charges: DUI, suspended driverâs license, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Location: unit block of West Chester Pike. Date: March 16 at 10:49 a.m.
