Catalytic Converter Thefts, Fraud, Forgery: Haverford Crime Blotter
Police reported five catalytic converter thefts and on attempted catalytic converter theft in three days' time. See the full blotter here.
HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Haverford Township issued their weekly crime blotter Wednesday.
Incidents in the blotter occurred between Dec. 13 and Dec. 19.
The blotter also includes arrests made and citations issued.

- Forgery at the unit block of W. Eagle Road on Dec. 13 at 9 a.m. – A check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.
- Motor Vehicle Theft at the 400 block of West Chester Pike on Dec. 14 at 5:09 p.m.
- Fraud at the 400 block of Walnut Hill Lane on Dec. 14 at 11:04 a.m. – Police responded to Citizens Bank for the report of an elderly customer attempting to withdraw a large sum of money and possibly being scammed.
- Identity Theft at the 1500 block of Melrose Avenue on Dec. 14 at 2:35 p.m. – Victim reported that someone used her identity to attempt to open a bank account.
- Identity Theft at the unit block of Woodbine Road on Dec. 14 at 3:49 p.m. – Victim reported two unauthorized transfers from his checking account. He also reported that numerous bank accounts and credit card accounts were attempted to be opened using his identity.
- Theft at the 1700 block of Darby Road on Dec. 15 at 1:33 a.m. – While on patrol an officer observed a male standing next to the USPS mailbox on E. Darby Road and Mill Road. The male fled in a nearby vehicle. The vehicle displayed fraudulent tags. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle and it fled. One of the occupants was actively throwing mail from the vehicle during the pursuit. The vehicle crashed and one of the males was taken into custody. Two others fled on foot and were detained by Lower Merion.
- Forgery at the 500 block of Brookline Boulevard on Dec. 15 at 12:20 p.m. – Victim reported that someone altered and attempted to cash a check after it was mailed.
- Forgery at the 100 block of Golf Hills Road on Dec. 15 at 4:06 p.m. - Victim reported that a check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.
- Fraud at the 500 block of Wales Road on Dec. 16 at 4:24 p.m. – Three unauthorized purchases were made on the victim’s bank account.
- Fraud at the 1700 block of West Chester Pike on Dec. 16 at 5:42 p.m. – Victim reported that an unauthorized withdraw was made from his checking account.
- Identity Theft at the 200 block of Oxford Hill Lane on Dec. 16 at 8:27 p.m. – Victim reported that someone used his identity to open a Verizon account.
- Identity Theft at the 1600 block of Rose Glen Road on Dec. 16 at 8:35 a.m. – Victim reported that someone opened a Citizens Bank account in Michigan and transferred over $100,000 from one of her accounts into the new fraudulent account.
- Identity Theft at the 200 block of Oxford Hill Lane on Dec. 16 at 8:27 p.m. – An unknown person opened a Verizon account using the victim’s identity.
- Burglary at the 1600 block of Hampton Road on Dec. 17 at 11:04 p.m. – Forced entry was made through a basement window. Several cabinets and drawers were open throughout the house. $250 in Hong King Currency was reported missing.
- Theft at the 100 block of Brookline Boulevard on Dec. 17 at 3:06 p.m. – Catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle.
- Theft at the unit block of Upland Road on Dec. 17 at 6:42 p.m. – Catalytic converter was stolen from the vehicle.
- Theft at the unit block of Steel Road on Dec. 18 at 5:13 p.m. – Catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle.
- Theft at the 1200 block of West Chester Pike on Dec. 19 at 9:18 a.m. – Vehicle was entered - $3,300 worth of tools were stolen.
- Theft at the unit block of Mifflin Avenue on Dec. 19 at 10:48 a.m. – Catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle.
- Theft at the 100 block of Warrior Road on Dec. 19 at 1:20 p.m. – Catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle.
- Theft at the unit block of W. Park Avenue on Dec. 19 at 10:08 p.m. – Victim reported that someone attempted to remove the catalytic converter from her vehicle.
- Identity Theft at the 400 block of Heatherwood Road on Dec. 19 at 9:25 a.m. – Victim reported that someone used his identity to open a Verizon account and purchase four cell phones.
- Identity Theft at the unit block of Braeburn Road on Dec. 19 at 12:03 p.m. – An unknown actor used the victim’s identity to open a Verizon account.

- 28-year-old female, 1000 block of S. 52nd Street, Philadelphia. Charges: Retail Theft. Location: Giant, 100 block of W. Township Line Road. Date: Dec. 15 at 4:59 p.m.
- 18-year-old male, 2000 block of Marshall Street, Philadelphia. Charges: Fleeing to elude officer, theft by unlawful taking, recklessly endangering another person, resisting arrest and receiving stolen property. Location: 1700 block of Darby Road. Date: Dec. 15 at 1:33 a.m.
- 22-year-old male, 500 block of York Street, Philadelphia. Charges: Fleeing to elude officer, theft by unlawful taking, recklessly endangering another person, resisting arrest and receiving stolen property. Location: 1700 block of Darby Road. Date: Dec. 15 at 1:33 a.m.
- 19-year-old male, 6900 block of Guilford Road, Upper Darby. Charges: Fleeing to elude officer, theft by unlawful taking, recklessly endangering another person, resisting arrest and receiving stolen property. Location: 1700 block of Darby Road. Date: Dec. 15 at 1:33 a.m.
- 45-year-old female, 800 block of Marlin Road, Philadelphia. Charges: Simple assault and harassment. Location: Wine and Spirits, 1300 block of West Chester Pike. Date: Dec. 16 at 7:15 p.m.
