Check Forgery, Fraud, Drugs, DUI, Guns, More: Haverford Crime Blotter
Haverford Township Police reported more instances of checks being stolen from mail boxes only to be altered then fraudulently cashed.
HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Haverford Township issued their weekly crime blotter Wednesday.
Incidents in the blotter occurred between Sept. 29 and Oct. 4.
The blotter also includes arrests made and citations issued.

- Bicycle Theft at Haverford Middle School, 1700 block of Darby Road, on Sept. 29 at 5 p.m.
- Theft at Eagle Manor Apartments, unit block of E. Eagle Road, on Sept. 28 at 3:16 p.m. – A television was stolen after it was delivered.
- Fraud at the unit block of Grove Place on Sept. 29 at 11 a.m. – Victim received a pop-up message on her computer stating that she needed to contact Microsoft. She called the number provided and was told she needed to secure her bank account and to transfer her money to an account provided by them. The victim became suspicious after she completed the transfer.
- Fraud at the 1700 block of West Chester Pike on Sept. 29 at 1:33 p.m. – Victim received an email from someone claiming to be from a computer security company. He granted them access to his computer. The subject accessed his bank account and transferred $1,292 to a Zelle account.
- Criminal Mischief at Lowe’s, 100 block of W. Township Line Road, on Sept. 30 at 12:05 p.m. – Vehicle was keyed.
- Public Drunkenness at Earlington Road and Woodmere way on Sept. 30 at 7:48 p.m. – 47-year-old male, 200 block of Kathmere Road, was cited for public drunkenness.
- Forgery at the 400 block of E. Township Line Road on Oct. 1 at 2:01 p.m. – A check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.
- Forgery at the 2600 block of Saint Davids Lane on Oct. 1 at 6:08 p.m. – Temporary registration was forged. The victim received a bill from NY/NJ port authorities for unpaid tolls.
- Theft at Sunoco, 400 block of E. Township Line Road, on Oct. 2 at 5:42 a.m. – Two unknown males stole a Pennsylvania Lottery machine.
- Retail Theft at Smoke Scene, 1500 block of West Chester Pike, on Oct. 2 at 8:47 p.m. – Two unknown males stole three boxes of vapor liquid.
- Forgery at the 100 block of Juniper Road on Oct. 2 at 2:21 p.m. – A check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.
- Theft at the 800 block of Coopertown Road on Oct. 3 at 12:09 p.m. – Victim reported that she observed an unknown male remove envelopes from her mailbox and flee in a silver vehicle.
- Theft at the 300 block of Highland Lane on Oct. 3 at 1:42 p.m. – The victim received an email from someone claiming to be the school’s principal. They requested the victim transfer $2,186 to a bank account.
- Forgery at the unit block of Llandaff Road on Oct. 3 at 9:19 a.m. – A check was altered after it was mailed. The subject attempted to cash the check written for $9,000.
- Forgery at Edmunds Avenue and Gladstone Road on Oct. 3 at 12:52 p.m. – A check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.
- Identity Theft at the 1800 block of Earlignton Road on Oct. 3 at 2:36 p.m. – Victim reported that someone used his identity to cash a check.
- Identity Theft at the 500 block of Misty Hollow Court on Oct. 4 at 12:39 p.m. – Victim reported that someone gained access to his eBay account and made purchases.
ARRESTS
- 34-year-old male, 1600 block of Walters Mill Road, Somerset. Charges: Warrant. Location: 200 block of West Chester Pike. Date: Sept. 27 at 10:58 p.m.
- 39-year-old male, 100 block of Walnut Hill Lane, Havertown. Charges: Person not to possess firearm, firearm not to be carried without a license, DUI, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Location: 100 block of Walnut Hill Lane. Date: Oct. 4 at 8:36 a.m.
- 33-year-old male, 1300 block of Edgewood Road, Havertown. Charges: Possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness. Location: 1300 block of Edgewood Road. Date: Oct. 4 at 4:31 a.m.
