Counterfeiting, Altered Checks, Thefts, More: Haverford Crime blotter

Police said four checks were altered then cashed after they were placed in the mail. See details on these incidents and more here.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Haverford Township Police issued their weekly crime blotter Wednesday.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Oct. 19 and Oct. 24.

The blotter also includes arrests made and citations issued.

  • Theft at the unit block of Raymond Drive on Oct. 19 at 10:42 a.m. – Catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle.
  • Theft at Brandywine Living, 700 block of Old Buck Road, on Oct. 19 at 1:40 p.m. – Victim reported jewelry missing from her room.
  • Identity Theft at the 100 block of Allgates Drive on Oct. 19 at 10:45 a.m. – Victim reported that someone used her identity to open two credit card accounts.
  • Retail Theft at Kohl’s, 200 block of West Chester Pike, on Oct. 20 at 10 a.m. – Two unknown actors stole over $3,000 worth of coats and fled the store.
  • Theft at the 100 block of S. Eagle Road on Oct. 20 at 2:03 p.m. – Victim reported that a package was stolen after it was delivered.
  • Fraud at the 2000 block of East Darby Road on Oct. 20 at 5:04 p.m. – Victim reported that someone fraudulently cashed one of her checks and removed $8,200 from her account.
  • Theft at the CREC, 9000 block of Parkview Drive, on Oct. 21 at 2:23 p.m. – Vehicle window was shattered. A backpack containing credit cards and $60 was stolen.
  • Forgery at the 1500 block of Sunny Hill Lane on Oct. 21 at 2:32 p.m. – Two checks were altered and cashed after they were mailed.
  • Forgery at the 1700 block of Bellemead Avenue on Oct. 21 at 3:17 p.m. – Two checks were altered and cashed after they were mailed.
  • Counterfeiting at the 1100 block of West Chester Pike on Oct. 21 at 1:40 p.m. – An unknown male made a purchase with a counterfeit $100 bill.
  • Retail Theft at Lowe’s, 100 block of West Township Line Road, on Oct. 22 at 10:45 a.m. – Two unknown males stole $1,842.97 worth of merchandise and fled the store.
  • Theft at the 1400 block of Lawrence Road on Oct. 24 at 10:45 a.m. – A package was stolen from the victim’s porch after it was delivered.
  • Retail Theft at Wawa, unit block of East Eagle Road, on Oct. 24 at 4:03 a.m. – An unknown male stole a carton of cigarettes from behind the counter.
  • Retail Theft at Acme, 600 block of West Lancaster Avenue, on Oct. 24 at 1:13 p.m. – 54-year-old male, unit block of Roberts Road, Bryn Mawr was cited for the retail theft of 98.96 worth of energy drinks.

ARRESTS

  • 36-year-old male, 300 block of Kathmere Road, Havertown. Charges: DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia and suspended driver’s license. Location: 300 block of Kathmere Road. Date: Oct. 20 at 4:04 p.m.
  • 46-year-old male, 500 block of Circle Drive, Havertown. Charges: Simple assault and harassment. Location: 500 block of Fairmont Road. Date: Oct. 23 at 3:04 p.m.
