Counterfeiting, Fraud, Theft, Forgery, More: Haverford Crime Blotter

Police said two $100 bills were used on Aug. 23 at the Giant store and Giant gas station. See details on these and other incidents here.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Haverford Township issued their weekly crime blotter Wednesday.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Aug. 17 and Aug. 23.

The blotter also includes citations issued.

  • Forgery at the 100 block of Cedarbrook Road on Aug. 17 at 3:45 p.m. – Victim reported that someone altered and attempted to cash a check.
  • Retail Theft at Kid to Kid, 1200 block of West Township Line Road, on Aug. 18 at 3:27 p.m. – Two unknown females stole $411.36 worth of merchandise and fled the store.
  • Theft at the 2300 block of Darby Road on Aug. 18 at 1:13 p.m. – Catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle.
  • Identity Theft at the 500 block of Howell Lane on Aug. 18 at 6:20 p.m. – Victim reported that someone used her identity to rent an apartment.
  • Attempted Retail Theft at Lowe’s, 100 block of West Township Line Road, on Aug. 19 at 6:54 p.m. – An unknown male was observed tampering with a power washer in front of the store. The subject fled when he saw the police vehicle.
  • Fraud at the 400 block of Valley Road on Aug. 19 at 3:39 p.m. – The victim received a phone call from someone claiming to be from Bank of America. They stated that there was an unauthorized charge on her account and requested personal information and her Visa card number. The victim became aware of the scam after she provided the information.
  • Bicycle Theft at the 200 block of Oxford Road on Aug. 20 at 11:23 a.m.
  • Theft at Darby and Eagle Roads on Aug. 20 at 1514 hours – A banner was stolen.
  • Forgery at the 1000 block of Carroll Road on Aug. 20 at 6:53 p.m. – Victim reported that someone altered a check and attempted to cash it.
  • Bicycle Theft at the Skatium, 1000 block of Darby Road, on Aug. 21 at 9:30 p.m.
  • Attempted Bicycle Theft at the unit block of Fairhaven Road on Aug. 21 at 1539 hours.
  • Public Drunkenness at Giant, 100 block of West Township Line Road, on Aug. 21 at 12:24 a.m. – 23-year-old male, 100 block of Glentay Avenue, Lansdowne was cited for public drunkenness.
  • Theft at the 1100 block of West Chester Pike on Aug. 22 at 2:24 p.m. – Catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle.
  • Fraud at the 2700 block of Prescott Road on Aug. 22 at 10:42 a.m. – The victim reported that she received a pop up on her computer prompting her to call Microsoft because her computer was hacked. The individual gathered information and stated that she had to send $3,000 worth of Bitcoin to an address provided. He was contacted again and instructed to send another $7,600.
  • Fraud at the 400 block of Spring Road on Aug. 22 at 5:11 p.m. – Unauthorized purchases were made with the victim’s debit card.
  • Retail Theft at Kid to Kid, 1200 block of West Township Line Road, on Aug. 23 at 2:32 p.m. – The manager reported that she observed three retail thefts on surveillance video.
  • Theft at the unit block of Darthmouth Lane on Aug. 23 at 5:18 p.m. – Victim reported that a flag pole was damaged and a lawn sign was stolen.
  • Theft at the 2400 block of Olcott Avenue on Aug. 23 at 5:34 p.m. – Victim reported that a package was stolen from the front of her residence. A resident found the package abandoned nearby.
  • Counterfeiting at Giant, 100 block of West Township Line Road, on Aug. 23 at 8:25 a.m. – A counterfeit $100 bill was used to purchase groceries.
  • Counterfeiting at Giant Gas Station, 100 block of West Township Line Road, on Aug. 23 at 9:55 a.m. – A counterfeit $100 bill was used to purchase gas.
  • Criminal Mischief at the 200 block of Harding Avenue on Aug. 23 at 3:31 p.m. – Small garden flag was ripped in half and thrown in the street.
