HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Haverford Township issued their weekly crime blotter recently.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Feb. 2 and Feb. 7.

The blotter also includes arrests made and citations issued.

  • Identity Theft at the 200 block of Walnut Place on Feb. 2 at 3:45 p.m.– Victim reported that someone used his identity to open a checking account and attempt to cash fraudulent checks.
  • Theft at the 600 block of Loraine Street on Feb. 3 at 3:19 p.m.– Vehicle was entered – loose change, handicapped placard and Toyota Owner’s Manual was stolen.
  • Theft at the 700 block of Loraine Street on Feb. 3 at 8:13 a.m. – Two unlocked vehicles were entered – nothing was reported missing.
  • Retail Theft at Lowe’s, 100 block of W. Township Line Road, on Feb. 4 at 3:15 p.m. – An unknown male stole two rolls of wire valued at $285.94. Loss Prevention Officer stopped the subject outside of the store and was able to recover the merchandise before he fled.
  • Fraud at the unit block of Meadows Lane on Feb. 4 at noon – Victim reported that he was the victim of a scam. He wired $32,000 to purchase a car and the vehicle never shipped.
  • Retail Theft at Wawa, unit block of E. Eagle Road, on Feb. 5 at 3:44 a.m. – Four unknown males stole approximately $50 worth of food and fled the store.
  • Retail Theft at Giant, 100 block of W. Township Line Road, on Feb. 6 at 10 a.m. – An unknown female was observed on video surveillance on Jan. 30 stealing approximately $1,000.00 worth of groceries.
  • Retail Theft at Giant, 100 block of W. Township Line Road, on Feb. 6 at 4:49 p.m. – An unknown female was observed on surveillance video approaching customer service with a shopping cart full of groceries on Jan. 30. She purchased a money order and then fled the store with the groceries.
  • Retail Theft at Giant on Feb. 6 at 11:05 a.m. – An unknown female was observed on video surveillance stealing approximately $190 worth of groceries.
  • Retail Theft at Sunoco, 400 E. Township Line Road, on Feb. 6 at 3:19 p.m.– An unknown male stole two boxes of candy valued at $190.
  • Identity Theft at the 1000 block of Delaware Avenue on Feb. 6 at 8 p.m. – Victim reported that someone used his identity to open two bank accounts and attempted to withdraw $6,000 from his life insurance policy.
  • Identity Theft at the unit block of Taylor Lane on Feb. 6 at 11:20 a.m. – Victim reported that someone used her identity to open a credit card account.
  • Retail Theft at Giant, 100 block of W. Township Line Road, on Feb. 7 at 8:54 a.m. – An unknown female was observed on video surveillance stealing approximately $800 worth of groceries.
  • Forgery at the unit block of Woodbine Road on Feb. 7 at 7:52 p.m.– A check was altered after it was mailed. The bank flagged the check as fraudulent when someone attempted to cash it.

ARRESTS

  • 36-year-old male, 2900 block of Kensington Avenue, Philadelphia. Charges: False identification to law enforcement, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Location: Hathaway and Clover Lanes. Date: Feb. 2 at 9:46 p.m.
  • 33-year-old male, 800 block of Hidden Forest Drive, Collegeville. Charges: Required ignition interlock and obscured plates. Location: West Chester Pike and Glen Gary Drive. Date: Feb. 3 at 12:13 p.m.
  • 30-year-old female, 1500 block of W. 7th Street, Chester. Charges: DUI and suspended driver’s license. Location: 1100 block of Karakung Drive. Date: Feb. 4 at 1:53 a.m.
