Forgery, Fraud, Vandalism, Theft, More: Haverford Crime Blotter
A scammer targeted a Haverford Township residence online and nearly accessed the resident's bank information through a remote program.
HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Haverford Township issued their weekly crime blotter recently.
Incidents in the blotter occurred between Nov. 16 and Nov. 22.
The blotter also includes arrests made and citations issued.

- Retail Theft at Kohl’s, 200 block of West Chester Pike, on Nov. 16 at 12:14 p.m. – An unknown female stole $850.98 worth of merchandise and fled the store.
- Retail Theft at Kohl’s, 200 block of West Chester Pike, on Nov. 16 at 8:28 p.m. – An unknown male stole $930 worth of merchandise and fled the store.
- Theft at the YMCA, 800 block of N. Eagle Road, on Nov. 16 at 2:33 p.m. – Vehicle was entered – credit cards were stolen from a wallet. Two unauthorized purchases were made with one of the credit cards.
- Vandalism at Haverford Village, 700 block of Ardmore Avenue, on Nov. 16 at 8:06 p.m. – Victim reported that two of her vehicles had nails placed in the tires.
- Forgery at Katz Pharmacy (unit block of E. Eagle Road) on Nov. 17 at 3:48 p.m. – The Pharmacist reported the he received two false prescriptions via fax.
- Fraud at the 200 block of Glen Arbor Road on Nov. 17 at 3:39 p.m. – Victim reported that his checking and money market account were compromised. $18,000 had been withdrawn from her two accounts.
- Identity Theft at the unit block of Decatur Road on Nov. 17 at 3:58 p.m. – An unknown male used the victim’s identity to attempt to withdraw money from his account.
- Vandalism at the 2600 block of County Line Road on Nov. 17 at 11:46 a.m. – Vehicle tire was slashed.
- Fraud at the 100 block of Campbell Avenue on Nov. 18 at 12:45 p.m. – Victim reported that he was contacted by a person claiming to be from Paypal. They stated that his account was compromised and to download “Any Desk” software. The unknown male then gained access to the victim’s computer and online banking. The suspect was unsuccessful in making an electronic transfer and suggested the victim withdraw cash and send it to him.
- Theft at the 2400 block of Whitby Road on Nov. 19 at 3:56 a.m. – A residence witnessed an unknown male entering vehicles. Police located a subject matching the description given and conducted a pedestrian stop. 42-year-old male was arrested.
- Retail Theft at Smoke Scene, 1500 block of West Chester Pike, on Nov. 19 at 2:52 p.m. – An unknown male stole three vapes totaling $150.
- Theft at the Haverford Dog Park, 7000 block of Parkview Drive, on Nov. 20 at 11:20 a.m. – Vehicle window was smashed, purse was stolen.
- Vandalism at the 2500 block of Olcott Avenue on Nov. 20 at 11:50 a.m. – Vehicle side view mirror was broken off.
- Fraud at the unit block of W. Eagle Road on Nov. 21 at 2:51 p.m. – A check was altered and attempted to be cashed after it was mailed.
- Retail Theft at Wawa, 1000 block of Darby Road, on Nov. 22 at 1:11 a.m. – An unknown male stole two cartons of cigarettes.
ARRESTS
- 35-year-old male, unit block of Linden Avenue, Upper Darby. Charges: Operate vehicle without ignition interlock. Location: 1200 block of West Chester Pike. Date: Nov. 16 at 7:37 a.m.
- 42-year-old male, 800 block of Main Street, Birdsboro. Charges: Theft by unlawful taking, theft from a motor vehicle, loitering and prowling at night and possession of drug paraphernalia. Location: 2400 block of Whitby Road. Date: Nov. 19 at 3:56 a.m.
- 15-year-old male was petitioned to juvenile court. Charges: Possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Location: Haverford High School. Date: Nov. 18 at 1:20 p.m.
