Forgery, Theft, Vandalism: Haverford Crime Blotter

Police reported seven instances of checks being stolen in the township in the past week. See details on these incidents and more here.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Haverford Township issued their newest crime blotter Wednesday.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between July 13 and July 19.

The blotter also includes arrests made and citations issued.

  • Forgery at Darby and Mercer Avenue on July 13 at 1:52 p.m. – Victim reported that someone altered a check and attempted to cash it after it was mailed. The bank recognized that it was fraudulent and contacted the victim.
  • Identity Theft at the 600 block of Country Club Lane on July 13 at 12:01 p.m. – Victim reported that someone used her identity to file for unemployment benefits.
  • Criminal Mischief at Hathaway and Sunnybrook Lanes on July 13 at 6:35 a.m. – A street sign was pulled down.
  • Criminal Mischief at the 200 block of E. Marthart Avenue on July 13 at 11:26 p.m. – A group of juveniles broke a light near the driveway.
  • Retail Theft at Giant, 100 block of W. Township Line Road, on July 14 at 10 a.m. – An unknown male stole approximately $60 worth of groceries and fled the store.
  • Theft at the 600 block of Dayton Road on July 14 at 8:28 a.m. – Vehicle was entered – a backpack was stolen.
  • Forgery at the 1700 block of Green Valley Road on July 14 at 8:33 a.m. – A check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.
  • Criminal Mischief at the 1700 block of Woodmere Way on July 14 at 10:07 a.m. – A light fixture was shattered outside of the residence.
  • Criminal Mischief at the unit block of E. Turnbull Avenue on July 14 at 12:40 p.m. – Solar lights were removed from the property and the electrical cords were pulled out.
  • Disorderly Conduct at the 500 block of Haverford Road on July 14 at 7:29 a.m. – 38-year-old male, 500 block of Dogwood Circle and 59-year-old male, unit block of Springton Road, Upper Darby was cited for disorderly conduct.
  • Theft at the 2500 block of Avon Road on July 15 at 9:39 a.m. – Victim received a phone call from a person claiming to be her grandson. He indicated that he was in trouble and needed $9,000 in cash. He said that he would stop by to pick up the money. The subject called again and instructed her to give the money to an unknown male that was at her door
  • Public Drunkenness at the 1500 block of Lawrence Road on July 15 at 3:16 p.m. – 39-year-old male, 1700 block of Sue Ellen Drive was cited for public drunkenness.
  • Criminal Mischief at the 100 block of Upland Road on July 16 at 3:06 a.m. – A group of juveniles kicked a vehicle tail light lens causing it to break.
  • Vandalism at Bailey Park, 600 block of Washington Avenue, on July 16 at 3:30 a.m. – Porta-potty was tipped over.
  • Theft at the Haverford Reserve, 7000 block of Parkview Drive, on July 17 at 7:21 p.m. – Vehicle window was shattered – a purse was stolen.
  • Theft at the unit block of W. Benedict Avenue on July 17 at 1:50 p.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – handicapped placard was stolen.
  • Retail Theft at Kohl’s, 200 block of West Chester Pike, on July 18 at 5:46 p.m. – An unknown male stole $1,424 and fled the store.
  • Theft at Barnaby’s, 1900 block of Old West Chester Pike, on July 18 at 3:18 p.m. – Victim reported that a medical device valued at $6,000 was stolen.
  • Forgery at the 400 block of Earlington Road on July 18 at 8:44 a.m. – A check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.
  • Forgery at the 300 block of Campbell Avenue on July 18 at 5:49 p.m. – A check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.
  • Theft at the Quadrangle, 3300 block of Darby Road, on July 19 at 8:44 p.m. – Victim reported that two checks were stolen and one check was cashed for $1,000. Retail
  • Theft at Acme, 1300 block of West Chester Pike, on July 19 at 6:56 p.m. – An unknown male stole an unknown amount of merchandise and fled the store.
  • Forgery at the 3000 block of Darby Road on July 19 at 11:03 a.m. – A check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.
  • Identity Theft at the 100 block of Harvard Road on July 19 at 3:55 p.m. – Victim reported that a bank account was opened using her identity.

  • 42-year-old female, 1900 block of Redfield Street, Philadelphia. Charges: DUI. Location: West Chester Pike and Township Line Road. Date: July 13 at 9:45 p.m.
  • 53-year-old male, 4400 block of Longshore Avenue, Philadelphia. Charges: Retail theft. Location: Giant, 100 block of W. Township Line Road. Date: July 14 at 12:13 p.m.
  • 59-year-old male, 100 block of Newton Avenue, Oaklyn NJ. Charges: Retail theft. Location: Acme, 1300 block of West Chester Pike. Date: July 16 at 9:46 p.m.
  • 47-year-old male, 6700 block of Marshall Road, Upper Darby. Charges: Retail theft. Location: Acme, 1300 block of West Chester Pike. Date: July 17 at 2 p.m.
  • 52-year-old male, homeless. Charges: Retail theft. Location: Kohl’s, 200 block of West Chester Pike. Date: July 17 at 5:18 p.m.
  • 34-year-old female, 5500 block of Boyer Street, Philadelphia. Charges: Retail theft. Location: Rite Aid, 1300 block of West Chester Pike. Date: July 18 at 2:46 p.m.
  • 32-year-old male, 2900 block of Kensington Avenue, Philadelphia. Charges: Retail theft and receiving stolen property. Location: Lowe’s, 100 block of W. Township Line Road. Date: July 19 at 8:33 p.m.
