Forgery, Theft, Vandalism, More: Haverford Crime Blotter

Police said two checks were altered and someone attempted to cash them after they were mailed. See details on this and more incidents here.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Haverford Township issued their weekly crime blotter Thursday.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Sept. 7 and Sept. 13.

The blotter also includes arrests made and citations issued.

  • Identity Theft at the 100 block of Fawn Lane on Sept. 7 at 4:31 p.m. – Victim reported that someone used her identity to open up a savings account and withdrew $20,000 from the victim’s checking account.
  • Retail Theft at Smoketown Vapes, 1200 block of West Chester Pike, on Sept. 8 at 11:16 a.m. – An unknown male stole $63.57 worth of merchandise.
  • Theft at the unit block of W. Hillcrest Avenue on Sept. 8 at 2:45 p.m. – Vehicle was entered - $55, two pairs of glasses and a Yeti mug were stolen.
  • Fraud at the 700 block of Wynnewood Road on Sept. 8 at 6:17 p.m. – The victim reported that she received an email from someone claiming to be from Norton Anti-Virus. The victim provided the subject remote access to her computer before recognizing the scam.
  • Fraud at the 500 block of Mill Road on Sept. 8 at 5:40 p.m. – Three checks were fraudulently cashed.
  • Retail Theft at Kohl’s, 200 block of West Chester Pike, on Sept. 9 at 1:34 a.m. – 29-year-old male, 3400 block of E. Falls Lane, Philadelphia, was cited for the retail theft of $145 worth of merchandise.
  • Theft at the unit block of Brookline Boulevard on Sept. 9 at 2007 hours – License plate was stolen from a motorcycle.
  • Retail Theft at Speedway Gas, 1100 block of West Chester Pike, on Sept. 9 at 11:26 p.m. – An unknown male stole potato chips and water.
  • Forgery at the 300 block of E. Hathaway Lane on Sept. 9 at 1:32 p.m. – Victim reported that two checks were altered and someone attempted to cash them after the checks were mailed.
  • Vandalism at the unit block of Kathmere Road on Sept. 9 at 4:42 p.m. – Vehicle rear window was shattered.
  • Liquor Law Violation at Veterans Field, unit block of W. Manoa Road, on Sept. 10 at 6:39 p.m. – A 15- and 16-year-old male were cited for underage drinking.
  • Disorderly Conduct at the 300 block of Strathmore Road on Sept. 11 at 8:08 a.m. – 23-year-old male, 200 block of Kenmore Road, was cited for disorderly conduct.
  • Theft at the 2800 block of Haverford Road on Sept. 12 at 10:52 a.m. – Spare tire was stolen from under a vehicle.
  • Motor Vehicle Theft at U-Haul, unit block of E. Township Line Road, on Sept. 12 at 1:39 p.m.
  • Identity Theft at the 3000 block of Robin Lane on Sept. 12 at 5:42 p.m. – Victim reported that someone used his identity to file for unemployment benefits.
  • Retail Theft at Acme, 600 block of W. Lancaster Avenue, on Sept. 13 at 7:15 p.m. – An unknown male drank a Red Bull and left the store without paying for it.

ARRESTS

  • 23-year-old male, 1600 block of Locust Street, Norristown. Charges: Disorderly conduct, possession of a controlled substance and drug Paraphernalia. Location: Ardmore Junction, Hathaway Lane and Haverford Road. Date: Sept. 7 at 10:27 p.m.
  • 38-year-old female, 1200 block of N. 54th Street, Philadelphia. Charges: Retail Theft. Location: Giant, 100 block of W. Township Line Road. Date: Sept. 8 at 4:18 p.m.
  • 40-year-old male, 500 block of W. Huntingdon Street, Philadelphia. Charges: Retail theft. Location: Kohl’s, 200 block of West Chester Pike. Date: Sept. 11 at 1:53 p.m.
