Fraud, Forgery, Thefts, DUI, More: Haverford Crime Blotter

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Haverford Township issued their weekly crime blotter recently.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Dec. 20 and Dec. 26.

The blotter also includes arrests made and citations issued.

INCIDENTS

• Theft at the unit block of Myrtle Avenue on Dec. 20 at 5:03 a.m. – A resident observed multiple vehicles pulled up next to her neighbor's vehicle and heard a "saw noise." The reporting party gave officers a vehicle description and officers located the vehicle on Earlington Road. Two were arrested for the theft of catalytic converters.
• Theft at the 100 block of W. Clearfield Road on Dec. 20 at 9:59 a.m. – A package was stolen after it was delivered.
• Bicycle Theft at Wawa, 1000 block of Darby Road, on Dec. 20 at 3:18 p.m.
• Fraud at the unit block of E. Mercer Avenue on Dec. 21 at 9:20 a.m. – A check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.
• Identity Theft at the 200 block of Ivy Rock Lane on Dec. 21 at 12:40 p.m. – Victim reported that someone used her identity to open a Verizon account and purchase an iPhone.
• Criminal Mischief at the 100 block of Marthart Avenue on Dec. 21 at 11:26 a.m. – Vehicle side view mirror was pushed in. Retail Theft at Kohl’s, 200 block of West Chester Pike, on Dec. 22 at 11:30 a.m. – An unknown male stole $324.99 and fled the store.
• Retail Theft at Lowe’s, 100 block of W. Township Line Road, on Dec. 22 at 7:56 p.m. – An unknown male attempted to steal $674.16 worth of wire. The merchandise was recovered when an employee confronted the suspect.
• Theft at the 100 block of Lewis Road on Dec. 22 at 7:06 p.m. – Victim reported that someone gained access to his bank account and removed $1,989.
• Theft at the 1000 block of Carroll Road on Dec. 22 at 4:20 p.m. – Victim reported that his mail was stolen from his mailbox.
• Forgery at the unit block of Derwen Drive on Dec. 22 at 2:05 p.m. – A check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.
• Fraud at Bryn Mawr Extended Care, 900 block of Railroad Avenue, on Dec. 22 at 12:54 p.m. – Victim reported multiple unauthorized charges made on his bank account.
• Fraud at the 100 block of Shawnee Road on Dec. 22 at 3:05 p.m. – Victim received an email from a person claiming to be her boss. The sender instructed her to purchase ten, $100 gift cards. The victim sent the cards before recognizing the scam.
• Theft at Kohl’s, 200 block of West Chester Pike, on Dec. 23 at 3:11 p.m. – Victim reported that someone stole an envelope full of cash from her purse.
• Retail Theft at Kohl’s, 200 block of West Chester Pike, on Dec. 23 at 8:58 a.m. – Two unknown females stole $1,647.99 worth of merchandise.
• Theft at the 100 block of Farwood Road on Dec. 23 at 12:45 p.m. – Four packages were stolen from the victim’s porch after they were delivered.
• Retail Theft at Acme, 1300 block of West Chester Pike, on Dec. 24 at 1:36 p.m. – 38-year-old female, 1000 block of Lee Drive, Broomall was cited for the retail theft of $145.41 worth of merchandise.
• Retail Theft at Giant, 100 block of W. Township Line Road, on Dec. 26 at 4:16 p.m. – An unknown male stole over the counter medication and fled the store.
• Theft at Acme, 600 block of Lancaster Avenue, on Dec. 26 at 11:02 a.m. - An unknown actor stole $280 worth of shrimp and fled the store.
• Forgery at the 1500 block of Sunny Hill Lane on Dec. 26 at 1:24 p.m. – A check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.
• Fraud at the 900 block of Powder Mill Lane on Dec. 26 at 5:33 p.m. – Victim reported that he was notified that someone sold one of his checks for $150. The check has since been cashed for $2,150.

• 27-year-old male, 700 block of E. Tioga Street, Philadelphia. Charges: Theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. Location: unit block of Myrtle Avenue. Date: Dec. 20 at 5:44 a.m.
• 30-year-old male, 1300 block of E. Lycoming Street, Philadelphia. Charges: Theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. Location: unit block of Myrtle Avenue. Date: Dec. 20 at 5:44 a.m.
• 54-year-old male, 1300 block of N. Wanamaker Street, Philadelphia. Charges: Retail theft. Location: Lowe’s, 100 block of W. Township Line Road. Date: Dec. 21 at 3:56 p.m.
• 37-year-old female, 3100 block of Belgreen Road, Philadelphia. Charges: DUI. Location: unit block of Ardmore Avenue. Date: Dec. 23 at 11:26 p.m.
• 50-year-old male, 7600 block of Brockton Road, Philadelphia. Charges: Retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. Location: Kohl’s, 200 block of West Chester Pike. Date: Dec. 26 at 1:08 p.m.
• 50-year-old male, Homeless. Charges: Criminal trespass. Location: 1600 block of Ridgeway Road. Date: Dec. 26 at 10:20 a.m.
