Haverford Crime Blotter: Burglary, Thefts From Cars, Fraud, More

A residence on the 1500 block of Melrose Avenue was broken into and about $800 was taken from the bedroom. Details on this and more here.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Haverford Township issued their most recent crime blotter Wednesday.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Aug. 19 and Aug. 25.

The blotter also includes arrests made and citations issued.

  • Theft at the 100 block of South Eagle Road on Aug. 19 at 2:59 p.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered - $770 worth of tools was stolen.
  • Theft at the unit block of Landover Road on Aug. 19 at 10:28 a.m. – Political sign was stolen.
  • Motor Vehicle Theft at Ardmore Toyota Storage, 2800 block of County Line Road, on Aug. 19 at 4:17 p.m.
  • Identity Theft at the 700 block of Merion Avenue on Aug. 19 at 1:46 p.m. – Victim reported that someone used his identity to request a loan and opened a credit card account.
  • Theft at the unit block of Llandaff Road on Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. – Victim reported $2,000 worth of jewelry missing after moving.
  • Retail Theft at Rite Aid, 1300 block of West Chester Pike, on Aug. 20 at 12:14 p.m. – An unknown male was observed filling a bag with merchandise.
  • Retail Theft at Kid to Kid, 1200 block of West Township Line Road, on Aug. 21 at 4:25 p.m. – Two unknown females stole approximately $115 worth of merchandise and fled the store.
  • Fraud at the Quadrangle, 3300 block of Darby Road, on Aug. 21 at 8:41 p.m. – Victim received an email from a person claiming to be from Microsoft. They stated that her computer was compromised and is at risk. The victim realized the scam when they requested her bank account information.
  • Vandalism at Ardmore Service Center, 2500 block of Haverford Road, on Aug. 21 at 8:16 a.m. – Glass pane on the garage door was shattered.
  • Theft at the 200 block of Morgan Avenue on Aug. 22 at 10:53 a.m. – Victim reported that someone gained access to his bank account and transferred $29,000.
  • Attempted Theft at the unit block of West Hillcrest Avenue on Aug. 22 at 1:30 a.m. – A resident observed two males attempting to enter a vehicle. Police located the two suspects matching their description. A warrant was issued for their arrest.
  • Criminal Mischief at the 200 block of East Turnbull Avenue on Aug. 22 at 9:02 a.m. – Residence was egged.
  • Public Drunkenness at Loraine Street and County Line Road on Aug. 22 at 5:52 a.m. – 37-year-old male, 100 block of Gilmore Road was cited for public drunkenness.
  • Burglary at the 1500 block of Melrose Avenue on Aug. 23 at 6:57 p.m. – It appears entry was gained through an unlocked door. Approximately $800 was stolen from the bedroom.
  • Theft at the unit block of East Park Road on Aug. 24 at 8:20 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – loose change was stolen.
  • Attempted Theft at the unit block of East Park Road on Aug. 24 at 8:55 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – nothing was reported missing.
  • Fraud at the 100 block of South Eagle Road on Aug. 24 at 8:15 a.m. – Multiple unauthorized purchases were made with the victim’s debit card.
  • Criminal Mischief at the Skatium, 1000 block of Darby Road, on Aug. 24 at 10:22 p.m. – two unknown juveniles threw a chair and a soda can at a vehicle.
  • Vandalism at the 300 block of Glen Gary Drive on Aug. 24 at 8:49 a.m. – Residence was egged.
  • Retail Theft at Lowe’s, 100 block of West Township Line Road, on Aug. 25 at 2:26 p.m. – An unknown male stole $399 worth of merchandise.
  • Fraud at the 300 block of David Drive on Aug. 25 at 3:32 p.m. – Victim reported that someone gained access to her bank account and transferred $1,800.
  • Vandalism at Chatham Glen Park, 200 block of Juniper Road, on Aug. 25 at 10:47 a.m. – Graffiti was discovered on the benches.

ARRESTS:

  • 35-year-old male, unit block of Grove Place, Havertown. Charges: Endangering the welfare of children and recklessly endangering another person. Location: unit block of Grove Place. Date: Aug. 21 at 11:11 a.m.
  • 52-year-old male, 2400 block of Hartel Avenue, Philadelphia. Charges: Retail theft. Location: Lowe’s, 100 block of West Township Line Road. Date: Aug. 21 at 1:07 a.m.
