Haverford Crime Blotter: Counterfeit Money, Theft, Fraud, More

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — The most recent Haverford Police crime blotter is out, and we have the details.

This blotter covers incidents that occurred in the township between New Year's Day and Jan. 7.

It also features arrests made and citations issued in that time frame.

INCIDENTS:

• Theft at Lowe’s (100 block of W. Township Line Road) on Jan. 1 at 5:16 p.m. – victim states that two unknown males entered the store, proceeded to take electrical wire and fled; investigation is ongoing.
• Theft at the YMCA (800 block of N. Eagle Road) on Jan. 1 at 1:28 p.m. – victim states that an unknown subject took his keys.
• Vandalism in the 2500 block of Wynnefield Drive on Jan. 1 at 8:16 a.m. – park signs and debris was thrown into the creek.
• Vandalism in the 700 block of Humphreys Road on Jan. 1 at 6:52 p.m. – victim states that his vehicle was keyed and the driver side mirror was broken.
• Motor Vehicle Theft from Wilkie Lexus (500 block of W. Lancaster Avenue) on Jan. 2 at 8:21 p.m.
• Counterfeiting at Sunoco (1300 block of West Chester Pike) on Jan. 3 at 8:12 a.m. – counterfeit money was used at the above location.
• Fraud in the 100 block of Sycamore Road on Jan. 3 at 2:02 p.m. – victim states that she received a phone scam from PECO. The victim was told that if she didn’t send gift cards in large amounts that her gas meter would be removed from her home; no money was lost, the victim contacted police and PECO.
• Fraud in the 400 block of Shelbourne Road on Jan. 3 at 5:34 p.m. – victims bank account was compromised.
• Fraud in the 1200 block of Dill Road on Jan. 3 at 7:01 p.m. – victim was scammed by an unknown person requesting gift cards for a school program.
• Theft at Haverford High School (200 block of Mil Road) on Jan. 4 at 2:01 p.m. – victim states that his wallet, cash and keys were taken out of jacket; victims jacket was left unattended on the bleachers.
• Theft from Vehicle in the 200 block of Oxford Road on Jan. 4 at 8:20 a.m. – victim’s vehicle was rummaged through and loose change was missing; vehicle was unlocked and parked in the driveway.
• Theft from Vehicle in the 200 block of Belfield Avenue on Jan. 4 at 9:49 a.m. – victim states that both of his vehicles were rummaged through but nothing was missing; vehicles were parked in driveway, unlocked.
• Identity Theft in the 1500 block of Sunny Hill Lane on Jan. 5 at 3:21 p.m. – an unauthorized opened a credit card using the victim’s information.
• Public Drunkenness in the 300 block of West Chester Pike on Jan. 5 at 8:37 p.m. – a 53-year-old female, 1200 block of Garfield Avenue, Havertown was cited.
• Disorderly Conduct at McSorley’s Ale House (2300 Block of Haverford Road) on Jan. 5 at 11:31 p.m. – a 44-year-old male, 800 block of Spruce Street, West Chester and a 43-year-old, 1200 block of Atwood Street, Philadelphia were cited.
• Theft from Vehicle in the 700 block of Penfield Avenue on Jan. 6 at 1:26 a.m. – victim’s vehicle was ransacked; a bottle of wine and loose change was missing from the unlocked vehicle.
• Theft from Vehicle in the 500 block of Oxford Road on Jan. 6 at 7:51 a.m. – loose change was taken from the victims unlocked vehicle; vehicle was parked in driveway.
• Criminal Mischief at West Chester Pike and Lawrence Road on Jan. 6 at 4:04 p.m. – an unknown actor threw something at the victim’s vehicle causing damage.
• Fraud in the 1700 block of Manor Road on Jan. 7 at 7:03 p.m. – victim states that two credit cards were opened in his name; accounts have been cancelled.
• Fraud in the 1400 block of Darby Road on Jan. 7 at 4:50 p.m. – victim’s bank account was compromised.
• Identity Theft in the 500 block of Brookline Boulevard on Jan. 7 at 2:01 p.m. – victim states that an unknown person opened a credit card in their name.

ARRESTS:

• 63-year-old male, 1300 block of N. Dover Street, Philadelphia. Charges: Theft from Motor Vehicle, Loitering / Prowling at Night, Receiving Stolen Property. Location: 500 block of Cumberland Road. Date: Jan. 2 at 3:26 a.m.
• 15-year-old male was petitioned to juvenile court. Charges: Use / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Controlled Substance. Location: Haverford High School (200 block of Mill Road). Date: Jan. 2 at 10:41 a.m.
• 16-year-old male was petitioned to juvenile court. Charges: Possession of Controlled Substance and Use / Possession of Controlled Substance. Location: Haverford High School (200 block of Mill Road). Date: Jan. 3 at 2:04 p.m.
• 16-year-old male was petitioned to juvenile court. Charges: Possession of Controlled Substance and Use / Possession of Controlled Substance. Location: Haverford High School (200 block of Mill Road). Date: Jan. 3 at 2:04 p.m.
• 21-year-old male, 200 block of Brentwood Road, Havertown. Charges: DUI, Resisting Arrest. Location: 800 block of Darby Road. Date: Jan. 5 at 1:12 a.m.
• 20-year-old female, 600 block of Dayton Road, Bryn Mawr. Charges: Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Location: 800 block of Darby Road. Date: Jan. 5 at 1:12 a.m.
• 20-year-old male, 6100 block of Reedland Street, Philadelphia. Charges: Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia. Location: 2800 block of St. Mary’s Road. Date: Jan. 7 at 1:02 a.m.
• 26-year-old male, 4600 block of Parrish Street, Philadelphia. Charges: Simple Assault, Harassment, Disorderly Conduct. Location: 500 block of West Chester Pike. Date: Jan. 7 at 11:45 a.m.
