Haverford Crime Blotter: Identity Theft, Fraud, Vandalism, More

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Haverford Township recently released two weeks of crime blotter details.

The blotter details cover incidents, arrests, and citations issued between Aug. 15 and Aug. 18.

INCIDENTS:

  • Attempted Theft at Rite Aid, 1300 block of West Chester Pike, on Aug. 5 at 1:14 p.m. – an unknown male attempted to buy a gift card with a counterfeit $100 bill; victim fled the store.
  • Fraud in the 200 block of North Concord Avenue on Aug. 5 at 11:08 a.m. – victim paid a contractor for work; work has not been started, contractor cannot be found.
  • Theft from Sippy’s Bubble Tea, 1300 block of Darby Road, on Aug. 6 at 3:19 p.m. – cash is missing from the business.
  • Identity Theft in the 300 block of Spring Avenue on Aug. 6 at 12:23 p.m. – a small business loan was opened in the victim’s name.
  • Criminal Mischief to Automobiles in the 700 block of Preston Avenue on Aug. 6 at 8:57 p.m. – victim states that a rock was thrown at his vehicle causing minor damage.
  • Criminal Mischief in the 1600 block of Rose Glen Road on Aug. 6 at 8:54 a.m. – victim states that the front door glass pane was shattered.
  • Theft in the 500 block of Royal Avenue on Aug. 7 at 4:48 p.m. – victim states that her wallet while she was shopping at Kohl’s; her credit cards were used by an unknown person.
  • Fraud at the Camera Shop, 500 block of W. Lancaster Avenue, on Aug. 7 at 1:46 p.m. – a camera was purchased using a stolen credit card.
  • Identity Theft in the 3700 block of Darby Road on Aug. 7 at 9:59 a.m. – victim states that an AT&T account was opened in her name; the bill was sent to collections for payments.
  • Public Drunkenness in the 200 block of Warrior Road on Aug. 8 at 1:05 a.m. – 36-year-old male, 600 block of Grand Avenue, Havertown was cited.
  • Fraud in the 600 block of Naylors Run Road on Aug. 11 at 9:27 a.m. – victim states she received a debit card in the mail relating to her unemployment; victim did not apply for unemployment.
  • Theft in the 1900 block of Lawrence Road on Aug. 12 at 2:37 a.m. – victim states that a gold chain was removed from her dresser.
  • Fraud in the 1300 block of Maryland Avenue on Aug. 12 at 3:53 p.m. – victim received a phone call from social security, money was exchanged; phone scam.
  • Bicycle Theft in the 100 block of Warrior Road on Aug. 13 at 12:17 p.m.
  • Identity Theft in the unit block of Meadows Lane on Aug. 13 at 5:30 p.m. – victim states that an unknown person opened a credit card in her name.
  • Criminal Mischief in the 300 block of Buck Lane on Aug. 14 at 2:03 p.m. – victim reports several scratches on the passenger side of her vehicle.
  • Fraud in the unit block of Brookline Boulevard on Aug. 15 at 3:15 p.m. – victim states that fraudulent charges were made using his credit card.
  • Vandalism in the 100 block of Brentwood Road on Aug. 15 at 12:38 a.m. – victim states that her house was toilet papered and cat food was dumped on her step.
  • Vandalism in the 700 block of North Eagle Road on Aug. 15 at 12:43 p.m. – several political signs were taken from the property, others were damaged.
  • Criminal Mischief at Lynnewood School, 1400 block of Lawrence Road, on Aug. 16 at 12:35 p.m. – a window was smashed at this above location.
  • Liquor Laws in the 500 block of Lawrence Road on Aug. 16 at 2:15 a.m. – a group of juvenile males were cited for underage drinking and curfew violations.
  • Vandalism in the 1000 block of Sproul Road on Aug. 17 at 4:40 p.m. – victim reports that a “BB Type Hole” was found in a rear window of his residence.
  • Theft in the 900 block of Haverford Road on Aug. 18 at 12:56 p.m. – a purse was taken from an Uber; investigation is ongoing.

  • 39-year-old female, 3200 block of Township Line Road, Drexel Hill. Charges: Possession of Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Retail Theft. Location: Giant, 100 block W. Township Line Road. Date: Aug. 7 at 8:34 p.m.
  • 68-year-old male, 3600 Township Line Road, Drexel Hill. Charges: Retail Theft. Location: Rite Aid, 1300 block of West Chester Pike. Date: Aug. 9 at 10:07 a.m.
  • 16-year-old male, was petitioned to juvenile court. Charges: Simple Assault and Harassment. Location: 1900 block of Lawrence Road. Date: Aug. 15 at 7:50 a.m.
  • 40-year-old male, 600 block of Loraine Street, Ardmore. Charges: Possession of Controlled Substance, Possession / Use of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana. Location: Willow and Rosemont Avenues. Date: Aug. 16 at 1:47 a.m.
  • 37-year-old male, 2700 block of St. Mary’s Road, Ardmore. Charges: Possession of Controlled Substance, Use of Drug Paraphernalia. Location: 2700 block of St. Mary’s Road. Date: Aug. 17 at 12:56 a.m.
  • 48-year-old male, 100 block of Brandywine Drive, Coatesville. Charges: Retail Theft. Location: Lowe’s, 100 block of West Township Line Road. Date: Aug. 17 at 2:37 p.m.
