Haverford Crime Blotter: Thefts From Vehicles, Fraud Arrests

Police said they arrested four people from Maryland and Washington DC in connection with theft incidents. See details on this and more here.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — The most recent crime blotter from Haverford Township Police is out, and we have the details.

Incidents included in the blotter occurred between Oct. 2 and Oct. 8.

  • Fraud in the 1500 block of Steel Road on Oct. 2 at 6:30 p.m. – victim stated she received a phone call from an Apple contractor, her personal information was given and access was gained to her bank accounts.
  • Theft in the 1800 block of Lawrence Road on Oct. 3 at 6:38 p.m. – lawn signs were taken from the victim’s property.
  • Fraud in the 700 block of Old Buck Lane on Oct. 3 at 4:08 p.m. – victim stated she received a phone call from Visa, her personal information was given and an unauthorized account was opened in her name.
  • Vandalism in the 300 block of Spring Road on Oct. 3 at 10:17 a.m. – victim states that her car was spray painted by an unknown actor.
  • Theft at Essex Cleaners, 1300 block of West Chester Pike, on Oct. 4 at 2:08 p.m. – Money was taken out of a purse in an unlocked office.
  • Theft at Jahnle Eye Associates, 2000 block of West Chester Pike, on Oct. 4 at 3:04 p.m. – an employee states that several display frames were taken from the shelf.
  • Bicycle Theft in the 200 block of Stanley Avenue on Oct. 4 at 1:54 p.m.
  • Identity Theft in the 1200 block of Leedom Road on Oct. 4 at 6:11 p.m. – victim states that an unauthorized person used his information and was granted a $5,000 loan in his name.
  • Theft at ACME, 300 block of Lancaster Avenue, on Oct. 5 at 2:18 p.m. – victims purse containing her cell phone, cash, keys and credit cards was taken from her shopping cart.
  • Bicycle Theft in the 800 block of Lorraine Street on Oct. 5 at 10:12 a.m.
  • Theft in the unit block of E. Manoa Road on Oct. 5 at 10:46 a.m. – victim states that several tools were taken out of his garage.
  • Fraud in the 800 block of Biddle Street on Oct. 5 at noon – victim states that an unknown person gained access to his bank account.
  • Public Drunkenness at Barnaby’s, 1900 block of Old West Chester Pike, on Oct. 5 at 1 a.m. – 23-year-old female was cited.
  • Public Drunkenness at Barnaby’s, 1900 block of Old West Chester Pike, on Oct. 5 8:10 a.m. – 27-year-old male was cited.
  • Theft from Vehicle in the unit block of Glenbrook Road on Oct. 6 at 9:38 a.m. – victim states that sunglasses and loose change were taken out of two vehicles parked in her driveway. Both vehicles were unlocked.
  • Theft at the YMCA, 800 block of N. Eagle Road, on Oct. 6 at 4:32 p.m. – victim states that his wallet was stolen out of his locker. Victim used his own personal lock and it was missing of the locker upon his return.
  • Theft from LA Fitness, 400 block of West Chester Pike, on Oct. 6 at 4:53 p.m. – victim’s wallet was taken from a locked locker at the above location. Large purchases were made using the victim’s credit cards.
  • Theft from Vehicle in the unit block of Glenbrook Road on Oct. 6 at 10:10 a.m. – victim states that loose change was taken out her vehicle. Vehicle was parked in the driveway, unlocked.

  • Theft from Vehicle in the 600 block of Valley View Road on Oct. 6 at 10:27 a.m. – victim states that his vehicle was rummaged through. Nothing was taken, vehicle was parked in his driveway, unlocked.
  • Attempted Theft at the YMCA, 800 block of Eagle Road, on Oct. 6 at 3:12 p.m. – victim states that his lock was removed locker, nothing was missing.

  • Public Drunkenness at Haverford College, 300 block of Lancaster Avenue, on Oct. 6 at 1:10 a.m. – 21-year-old female was cited.
  • Underage Drinking at Haverford College, 300 block of Lancaster Avenue, on Oct. 6 at 1:29 a.m. – 18-year-old female was cited.
  • Theft from Giant, 100 block of W. Township Line Road, on Oct. 7 at 2:07 p.m. – two unknown males fled the store with a large purchase. Investigation is ongoing.
  • Identity Theft in the 300 block of Crescent Hill Drive on Oct. 7 at 1:15 p.m. – victim states that an unknown person opened a Comcast account using his information.
  • Theft from Vehicle in the 1800 block of Robinson Avenue on Oct. 8 at 4:44 a.m. – victim states that two heavy weight tools were taken out of the bed if his work truck.
  • Bicycle Theft at Haverford College, 300 block of Lancaster Avenue, on Oct. 8 at 12:50 p.m.
  • Theft at ACME, 600 block of W. Lancaster Avenue, on Oct. 8 at 7:23 p.m. – victim states that her wallet was stolen while loading groceries. Charges were made on her credit card; accounts have since been cancelled.
  • Fraud in the 200 block of Walnut Hill Lane on Oct. 8 at 8 p.m. – victim states that an unknown person opened a bank account in her name.
  • Vandalism in the 400 block of Pilgrim Lane on Oct. 8 at 8:07 a.m. – victim states that berries were smeared on the door of her business.

  • 21-year-old male, 100 block Mill Road, Havertown. Charges: Aggravated Assault. Location: 100 block of Mill Road. Date: Sept. 27 at 9:46 p.m.
  • 28-year-old female, 1000 block of 50th Street, Washington, DC. Charges: Access Device Fraud, Identity Theft, Theft by Deception, Theft by Unlawful Taking, RSP, P.I.C., Conspiracy. Location: CVS, 1100 block of West Chester Pike. Date: Oct. 6 at 4:21 p.m.
  • 25-year-old male, 14000 block of Georgia Avenue, Silver Springs, MD. Charges: Access Device Fraud, Identity Theft, Theft by Deception, Theft by Unlawful Taking, RSP, P.I.C., Conspiracy. Location: CVS, 1100 block of West Chester Pike. Date: Oct. 6 at 4:21 p.m.
  • 30-year-old male, 1300 block of 7th Street, Washington, DC. Charges: Access Device Fraud, Identity Theft, Theft by Deception, Theft by Unlawful Taking, RSP, P.I.C., Conspiracy. Location: CVS, 1100 block of West Chester Pike. Date: Oct. 6 at 4:21 p.m.
  • 32-year-old male, 300 block of E. Lafayette Street, Baltimore, MD. Charges: Access Device Fraud, Identity Theft, Theft by Deception, Theft by Unlawful Taking, RSP, P.I.C., Conspiracy. Location: CVS, 1100 block of West Chester Pike. Date: Oct. 6 at 4:21 p.m.
  • 31-year-old male, 1200 block of Millick Street, Philadelphia. Charges: Retail Theft and Receiving Stolen Property. Location: Giant, 100 block of W. Township Line Road. Date: Oct. 7 at 2:07 p.m.
  • 31-year-old male, 1200 block of Millick Street, Philadelphia. Charges: Retail Theft and Receiving Stolen Property. Location: Kohl’s, 200 block of West Chester Pike. Date: Oct. 8 at 9:41 a.m.
