Haverford Police Blotter: 16 Thefts In 1 Day

Police said there were 16 instances of theft or attempted theft on Feb. 22. See details on the thefts and other crimes here.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — The latest Haverford Township Police crime blotter was released Wednesday, and we have the details here.

The blotter covers incidents that occurred between Feb. 20 and Feb. 26.

Police said there were 16 incidents of theft or attempted theft on Feb. 22 alone.

INCIDENTS:

  • Fraud at the 1200 block of Bon Air Terrace on Feb. 20 at 11:45 a.m. – Victim reported that she was scammed and gave $255.50 to someone who was supposed to deliver a piano to her residence.
  • Identity Theft at the 200 block of Golf View Road on Feb. 20 at 5:02 p.m. – An unknown person used the victim’s identity to rent a U-Haul truck.
  • Theft at the 2700 block of Chestnut Avenue on Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. – Victim received a phone call from an unknown person claiming to be from Apple Inc. The victim provided the unknown male remote access to his computer and $2,900 in gift cards before realizing it was a scam.
  • Fraud at the 100 block of Earlington Road on Feb. 21 at 3:30 p.m. – Victim reported that someone accessed his money market account and printed a check for $12,000.
  • Theft at the 200 block of Farnham Road on Feb. 22 at 4:28 a.m. – Police responded to the above location for a black male attempting to enter a vehicle. Officers attempted a pedestrian investigation on a subject matching the description but the male fled. Police gave chase and brought Black male, 18 into custody.
  • Theft at the unit block of Langhorne Avenue on Feb. 22 at 5:08 a.m. – Two unlocked vehicles were entered – cell phone was stolen. Black male, 18 was arrested. The cell phone was recovered.
  • Theft at the 100 block of Strathmore Road on Feb. 22 at 10:40 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – laptop, several college books and basketball sneakers were stolen.
  • Theft at the 200 block of Farnham Road on Feb. 22 at 7:19 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – loose change was stolen. White male, 18 was arrested.
  • Theft at the 200 block of Farnham Road on Feb. 22 at 7:30 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – a change purse was stolen. White male, 18 was arrested. The change purse was recovered.
  • Theft at the 300 block of Twin Oaks Drive on Feb. 22 at 7:30 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered - $35 and a phone charger was stolen. White male, 18 was arrested. Phone charger was recovered.
  • Theft at the 400 block of Pembroke Road on Feb. 22 at 11:12 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – a change purse containing $6 was stolen.
  • Theft at the 200 block of Wickford Road on Feb. 22 at 2:05 p.m. – Two unlocked vehicles were entered – loose change was stolen.
  • Attempted Theft at the 300 block of Darby Road on Feb. 22 at 5:53 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – nothing was reported missing.
  • Attempted Theft at the 400 block of Llanerch Avenue on Feb. 22 at 7:24 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – nothing was reported missing.
  • Attempted Theft at the unit block of Princeton Road on Feb. 22 at 7:51 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – nothing was reported missing.
  • Attempted Theft at the unit block of Princeton Road on Feb. 22 at 8:04 a.m. – Vehicle was entered – nothing was reported missing.
  • Attempted Theft at the unit block of East Langhorne Road on Feb. 22 at 11:36 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – nothing was reported missing.
  • Attempted Theft at the 400 block of Darby Road on Feb. 22 at 1:38 p.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – nothing was reported missing.
  • Attempted Theft at the 200 block of Wickford Road on Feb. 22 at 4:43 p.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – nothing was reported missing.
  • Attempted Theft at the unit block of Kathmere Road on Feb. 22 at 5:04 p.m. – Vehicle was entered – nothing was reported missing.
  • Fraud at the unit block of Bambi Lane on Feb. 22 at 6:16 p.m. – Victim reported that she received a phone call from an unknown person claiming to be from. Microsoft and was scammed out of $8,000.
  • Liquor Law Violation at the 500 block of College Avenue on Feb. 22 at 11:34 p.m. – Police responded to a large underage drinking college party. Investigation is ongoing.
  • Liquor Law Violation at the Pennsy Trail, 100 block of West Eagle Road, on Feb. 22 at 9:12 p.m. – White male, 14 was cited for underage drinking.
  • Retail Theft at Kohl’s, 200 block of West Chester Pike, on Feb. 23 at 5:59 p.m. – White female, 22, unit block of Oxford Street, Lansdowne was cited for the retail theft of $25 worth of merchandise.
  • Robbery at Citizens Bank, 100 block of West Township Line Road, on Feb. 24 at 1:35 p.m. – A black male implied he had a gun and demanded money. The suspect fled in a taxi. Investigation is ongoing.
  • Theft at the 400 block of Llanerch Avenue on Feb. 24 at 3:36 p.m. – Vehicle was entered - $30 was stolen.
  • Criminal Mischief at the 2400 block of Bryn Mawr Avenue on Feb. 24 at 10:14 a.m. – Animal feces was dumped in the victim’s driveway.
  • Retail Theft at 7-11, 100 block of Eagle Road, on Feb. 25 at 2:45 a.m. – A black male stole a chocolate milk and fled the store.
  • Fraud at the 400 block of Blakeley Road on Feb. 25 at 1:20 p.m. – Victim reported an unauthorized withdraw from his checking account in the amount of $3,960.
  • Public Drunkenness at the 200 block of Pine Ridge Road on Feb. 25 at 12:01 a.m. – White female, 21, 400 block of East 89th Street, New York, NY and White female, 22, 400 block of Allston Road, Havertown were cited for underage drinking and disorderly conduct.
  • Retail Theft at Giant, 100 block of West Township Line Road, on Feb. 26 at 7:36 p.m. – A black male attempted to steal $1,248.54 worth of groceries. The suspect abandoned the cart full of merchandise and fled when he was confronted by an employee.

  • White male, 36, 2800 block of St. Mary’s Road, Ardmore. Charges: DUI, careless driving, restrictions on alcoholic beverages and traffic offenses. Location: Ardmore Avenue and County Line Road. Date: Feb. 20 at 8:32 p.m.
  • White female, 28, unit block of Haymarket Lane, Bryn Mawr. Charges: Possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Location: Haverford Road and Haverford Court. Date: Feb. 21 at 8:56 a.m.
  • Black male, 18, unit block of Slocam Street, Philadelphia. Charges: Theft from motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, resisting arrest, loitering and prowling at night and disorderly conduct. Location: 200 block of Farnham Road. Date: Feb. 22 at 4:28 a.m.
  • Black female, 30, 3000 block of Carter Avenue, Chester. Charges: Retail theft, receiving stolen property, theft by deception and parked in handicapped space. Location: Rite Aid, 1300 block of West Chester Pike. Date: Feb. 22 at 11:38 a.m.
  • White male, 24, 500 block of Washington Avenue, Philadelphia. Charges: Retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. Location: Acme, 1300 block of West Chester Pike,. Date: Feb. 22 at 8:32 p.m.
  • Black male, 22, 7300 block of Woodcrest Avenue, Philadelphia. Charges: Possession of marijuana and window obstructions. Location: 200 block of West Chester Pike. Date: Feb. 23 at 8:20 a.m.
  • White female, 69, unit block of Colonial Avenue, Norristown. Charges: DUI. Location: West Chester Pike and Glendale Road. Date: Feb. 23 at 12:05 a.m.
  • White female, 38, 100 block of Springton Road, Upper Darby. Charges: Aggravated assault by a prisoner, simple assault, possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness. Location: Sunoco, 400 block of East Township Line Road. Date: Feb. 23 at 10:47 p.m.
  • Black male, 30, 9900 block of Lorry Place, Philadelphia. Charges: Receives advance payment for service and failed to perform service, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. Location: 1600 block of Rose Glen Road. Date: Feb. 19 at 12:48 p.m., incident occurred on Jan. 24.
  • Black female, 27, 7000 block of Paschall Avenue, Philadelphia. Charges: Retail Theft. Location: Kohl’s, 200 block of West Chester Pike. Date: Feb. 25 at 7:37 p.m.
