Haverford Police Blotter: Burglary Attempt, Thefts, Fraud, More

Police were busy on Halloween, making six arrests and handling four crime incidents. See details of those incidents and more here.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA – The latest crime blotter from Haverford Township Police is out.

The blotter covers incidents that occurred between Oct. 31 and Nov. 5.

On Halloween alone, police handled four crime cases – one an attempted burglary – and made six arrests for theft, DUI, and more.

INCIDENTS:

  • Attempted Burglary at the 2600 block of Wendy Drive on Oct. 31 at 9:08 a.m. – A broken window pain was discovered on the rear door to the residence. The deadbolt remained intact and no entry was gained.
  • Theft at the 100 block of W. Eagle Road on Oct. 31 at 2 p.m. – Victim reported that forced entry was made into his trailer and two blowers were stolen.
  • Identity Theft at the 100 block of Buck Lane on Oct. 31 at noon – An unknown person applied for six loans using the victim’s identity. The loan applications were denied.
  • Criminal Mischief at Burmont and Pilgrim Lane on Oct. 31 at 11:33 a.m. – Unknown juveniles threw an unknown object at the victim’s vehicle.
  • Public Drunkenness at 1300 block of West Chester Pike on Nov. 1 at 4:27 p.m. – White male, 60, 100 block of N. Drexel Avenue was cited for public drunkenness.
  • Fraud at the 200 block of Hastings Avenue on Nov. 2 at 5:15 p.m. – Victim received a call from an unknown male claiming to be a police officer. The caller stated that there was a warrant for his arrest, and he had to pay money to get it taken care of. The victim gave the caller $985 in Walmart gift cards before he realized it was a scam.
  • Identity Theft at the 200 block of E. Eagle Road on Nov. 2 at 5:15 p.m. – Victim reported that an unknown person attempted to open a credit card account using his identity without his permission or knowledge.
  • Liquor Law Violation at the YMCA (800 block of N. Eagle Road) on Nov. 5 at 9:44 p.m. – White male, 15 was cited for underage drinking and public drunkenness.
  • Public Drunkenness at the 300 block of Glen Gary Drive on Nov. 5 at 9:32 p.m. – White female, 25, 1400 block of Windsor Park Lane was cited for public drunkenness.
  • Retail Theft at Giant (100 block of W. Township Line Road) on Nov. 6 at 12:27 p.m. – Two black females stole $260.77 and fled the store.
  • Retail Theft at Acme (1300 block of West Chester Pike) on Nov. 6 at 9 p.m. – An unknown person stole a Christmas Tree valued at $286.11.

ARRESTS:

  • White female, 50, 600 block of Furlong Avenue, Havertown. Charges: Possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Location: 600 block of Furlong Avenue. Date: Oct. 26 at 8:25 a.m.
  • Black female, 28, 7100 block of Hazel Avenue, Upper Darby. Charges: Retail theft. Location: Kohl’s (200 block of West Chester Pike). Date: Oct. 31 at 10:27 p.m.
  • White male, 61, 2300 block of Belvedere Avenue, Havertown. Charges: DUI, careless driving and possession of drug paraphernalia. Location: 900 block of Darby Road. Date: Oct. 31 at 3:23 a.m.
  • Black male, 18, 600 block of Coates Street, Coatesville. Charges: Possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Location: West Chester Pike and Manoa Road. Date: Oct. 31 at 11:33 a.m.
  • Black female, 19, 300 block of W. Gay Street, West Chester. Charges: Possession of marijuana. Location: West Chester Pike and Manoa Road. Date: Oct. 31 at 11:33 a.m.
  • Black male, 54, 2600 block of Federal Street, Philadelphia. Charges: Accidents involving damage to attended vehicle, careless driving and driving on roadways laned for traffic. Location: West Chester Pike and Darby Road. Date: Oct. 31 at 9:19 a.m.
  • White male, 53, 2400 block of Linden Drive, Havertown. Charges: DUI, careless driving, accidents involving damage to unattended vehicle and reckless driving. Location: Hawthorne and Hastings Avenues. Date: Oct. 31 at 1:25 p.m.
  • Black male, 27, 3800 block of Dennison Avenue, Drexel Hill. Charges: Warrant. Location: 1300 block of West Chester Pike. Date: Nov. 2 at 1:51 a.m.
