Haverford Police Blotter: Burglary, Fraud, Thefts, More

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA – The latest Haverford Police blotter is out.

The newest blotter covers police handled incidents that occurred between Dec. 12 and Dec. 18.

Most notably, police dealt with a burglary, man theft cases, several fraud incidents, and identity theft.

INCIDENTS:

  • Burglary at the 800 block of Haverford Road on Dec. 12 at 6:23 p.m. – Entry was gained through an unlocked window. A safe was removed from the bedroom but recovered in the yard. Nothing was reported missing.
  • Theft at the unit block of Fairhaven Road on Dec. 12 at 7:33 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered, credit card was stolen.
  • Theft at the 100 block of Whitemarsh Road on Dec. 12 at 11:21 a.m. – Victim reported that someone cut the top of a box after delivery and removed the contents.
  • Fraud at the 100 block of Hastings Avenue on Dec. 12 at 11:20 a.m. – An unknown person accessed the victim’s bank account and made five unauthorized transactions totaling over $10,000 loss.
  • Identity Theft at the 400 block of Kenmore Road on Dec. 12 at 12:21 p.m. – Victim reported that a PGW account was opened using his identity without his permission or knowledge.
  • Identity Theft at the 700 block of Merion Avenue on Dec. 12 at 1:18 p.m. – Two Comcast accounts were opened using the victim’s identity without her permission or knowledge.
  • Vandalism at the 400 block of Mill Road on Dec. 12 at 11:37 a.m. – Graffiti was reported on the sidewalk.
  • Theft at the YMCA, 800 block of N. Eagle Road, on Dec. 13 at 10:33 a.m. – Victim reported that his wallet containing $250, credit cards and driver’s license was stolen while he left it unattended on a bench.
  • Theft at Haverford CREC, 9000 block of Parkview Road, on Dec. 14 at 2:51 p.m. - Vehicle window was shattered, a purse containing $20, driver’s license, credit card and house keys was stolen.
  • Theft at the 100 block of W. Hillcrest Avenue on Dec. 14 at 3:53 p.m. – A PA trailer tag was stolen.
  • Identity Theft at the 700 block of Loraine Street on Dec. 14 at 9:21 a.m. – Victim reported that someone opened a Verizon account using his identity.
  • Criminal Mischief at the 1000 block of Pennsylvania Avenue on Dec. 15 at 3:30 p.m. – Cord was cut to an inflatable holiday decoration.
  • Disorderly Conduct at the YMCA, 800 block of N. Eagle Road, on Dec. 15 at 5:20 p.m. – An Asian male, 74, unit block of Jacalyn Drive was cited for disorderly conduct.
  • Fraud at the 100 block of Rodney Circle on Dec. 16 at 12:59 p.m. – Victim reported that he misplaced three credit cards. An unauthorized purchase in the amount of $2,647.88 was made with one of the credit cards.
  • Fraud at the 100 block of Shelbourne Road on Dec. 17 at 5:15 p.m. – Five unauthorized purchases were attempted with the victim’s credit card.
  • Theft at the 200 block of Walnut Place on Dec. 18 at 8:36 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – headphones were stolen.
  • Theft at Haverford College, 300 block of Lancaster Avenue, on Dec. 18 at 9:11 p.m. – Victim reported his headphones were stolen while they were left unattended in the sports complex.
  • Theft at the 200 block of Walnut Place on Dec. 18 at 8:54 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered, loose change was stolen.
  • Identity Theft at the 1500 block of Burmont Road on Dec. 18 at 11:32 a.m. – Victim reported multiple credit card accounts were opened using his identity.
  • Fraud at the unit block of Waverly Road on Dec. 18 at 2:06 p.m. – Two unauthorized charges were made with the victim’s credit card.
  • Criminal Mischief at the 1300 block of Rose Tree Lane on Dec. 18 at 6:18 p.m. – Rear vehicle window was shattered.
  • Vandalism at the 100 block of East Turnbull Avenue on Dec. 18 at 12:19 p.m. – Wire was cut on holiday decorations.

ARRESTS:

  • White male, 40, 1500 Darby Road, Havertown. Charges: Possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia with the intent to deliver. Location: 1500 block of Darby Road. Date: Nov. 30 at 12:31 p.m.
  • White male, 31, 300 block of Cheswald Avenue, Upper Darby. Charges: Home improvement fraud and theft by deception. Location: 2500 block of Olcott Avenue. Date: Nov. 29 at 9 a.m.
  • Black male, 30, 3500 block of Darby Road, Haverford. Charges: Aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment, recklessly endangering another person and possession of an instrument of crime. Location: Torrey House, 3500 block of Darby Road. Date: Dec. 17 at 5:23 p.m.
