Haverford Police Blotter: Fraud, Identity Theft, More

Police handled four cases of fraud and four cases of identity theft in the last week. See details on those and other crimes here.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — The newest Haverford Township Police crime blotter is out, and the details are here.

This week's blotter covers incidents that occurred in the township between April 3 and April 9.

Police investigated four fraud incidents, four identity theft cases, and a burglary among other crimes.

INCIDENTS:

  • Attempted Burglary at Enterprise, 600 block of W. Lancaster Avenue, on April 3 at 4:30 a.m. – Police responded to the above location for an audible alarm. Police located a broken window from an unknown object but it did not appear there was entry to the business.
  • Fraud at the 200 block of Sagamore Road on April 3 at 7:16 hours – The victim received a call from an unknown person claiming to be from Comcast cable. The victim gave the caller remote access to his computer and sent him $500 worth of gift cards before he realized it was a scam.
  • Fraud at the unit block of Ralston Avenue on April 3 at 8:55 p.m. – Victim responded to an email regarding an internship opportunity. He received a check for $1,900 and was told to deposit it and send $1,900 worth of Google Play cards and Ebay cards. The check then bounced leaving the victim out the $1,900.
  • Fraud at the 500 block of Glendale Road on April 3 at 6:15 p.m. – Victim reported four unauthorized charges were made with his credit card.
  • Fraud at the unit block of Foster Avenue on April 4 at 3:27 p.m. – Unauthorized purchases were made with the victim’s credit card.
  • Identity Theft at the 400 block of Langhorne Avenue on April 4 at 4:34 p.m. – Victim reported that someone used his identity to authorize news users on his credit card.
  • Forgery at the 2900 block of Oakford Road on April 5 at 7:47 a.m. - Victim reported that a person known to her forged two personal checks and withdrew $500 from her checking account.
  • Identity Theft at the unit block of Castlerock Drive on April 5 at 3:26 p.m. – Victim reported several attempts were made to gain access into her accounts.
  • Identity Theft at the 500 block of Upland Road on April 5 at 6:38 p.m. – An unknown person attempted to open a T-Mobile account using his identity.
  • Retail Theft at Lowe’s, 100 block of W. Township Line Road, on April 6 at 5:01 p.m. – Two unknown males stole two power washers.
  • Bicycle Theft at Wawa, unit block of E. Eagle Road, on April 6 at 11:19 p.m.
  • Public Drunkenness at Barnaby’s, 1900 block of Old West Chester Pike, on April 6 at 1:05 a.m. – White male, 32, 2200 block of Conwell Avenue, Philadelphia, was cited for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
  • Identity Theft at the unit block of Rodman Avenue on April 7 at 5:13 p.m. – Victim reported that someone used his identity to add two lines to his AT&T account.
  • Burglary at the 2200 block of Steel Road on April 8 at 4:41 p.m. – Entry was gained through the rear door. Jewelry and watches were stolen from the master bedroom.
  • Theft at the 100 block of Juniper Road on April 8 at 10:48 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – a bag containing mountain climbing harness and loose change was stolen. Bicycle Theft at Wawa, unit block of E. Eagle Road, on April 8 at 10:43 a.m.
  • Theft at the YMCA, 800 block of N. Eagle Road, on April 8 at 10:01 p.m. – Sweat pants and vehicle keys were stolen from an unsecured locker.
  • Bicycle Theft at the 700 block of E. Manoa Road on April 9 at 6:13 p.m.

ARRESTS:

  • White male, 28, 2900 block of Ardmore Avenue, Ardmore. Charges: Possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Location: 400 block of Shurs Lane, Philadelphia Date: April 4 at 7:26 a.m.
  • Black male, 25, 1700 block of Wynsam Street, Philadelphia. Charges: DUI. Location: Darby Road and Mercer Avenue Date: April 5 at 3:22 a.m.
  • B/F/24, 6000 block of Spruce Street, Philadelphia. Charges: Possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, speeding and suspended driver’s license. Location: Darby and Woodcroft Roads Date: April 6 at 12:02 p.m.
  • W/F/31, 1600 block of Rose Glen Road, Havertown. Charges: Public drunkenness, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Location: 100 block of Brentwood Road Date: April 7 at 3:57 a.m.
  • White male, 20, 100 block of Clamar Avenue, Havertown. Charges: Possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Location: Dill Drive and James Drive Date: April 10 at 12:56 a.m.
  • White male, 16, was petitioned to juvenile court. Charges: DUI, possession of marijuana, recklessly endangering another person, junior license – passenger under 18 and careless driving. Location: 1600 block of Colony Lane Date: April 5 at 7:48 a.m.
  • Asian male, 16, was petitioned to juvenile court. Charges: Retail theft, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Location: Kohl’s , 200 block of West Chester Pike, Date: April 7 at 1:46 p.m.
  • White male, 17, was petitioned to juvenile court. Charges: Retail theft Location: Kohl’s, 200 block of West Chester Pike. Date: April 7 at 1:46 p.m.
