Haverford Police Blotter: Stolen Gun, Fraud, Vandalism, More

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA – The newest Haverford Township Police blotter is out and it chronicles department-handled incidents that occurred over the last week.

Police dealt with numerous thefts and retail thefts, fraud, vandalism, and more.

Most notably, police said a handgun was stolen from a vehicle on Hathaway Lane the night of Dec. 8.

INCIDENTS:

  • Theft at Krispy Kreme, 1300 block of West Chester Pike, on Dec. 5 at 1:11 p.m. – An employee stole $300 from the safe.
  • Retail Theft at Giant, 100 block of W. Township Line Road, on Dec. 6 at 2:06 p.m. – A black female attempted to steal $82 worth of groceries.
  • Fraud at the 100 block of West Chester Pike on Dec. 6 at 10:30 a.m. – Victim reported that someone made two unauthorized purchases with his debit card.
  • Retail Theft at Acme, 1300 block of West Chester Pike, on Dec. 7 at 2:06 p.m. – A white male attempted to steal $235.92 worth of groceries.
  • Fraud at the 400 block of Darby Road on Dec. 7 at 12:13 p.m. – Victim reported that an unknown person fraudulently cashed a check.
  • Fraud at the 2400 block of Olcott Avenue on Dec. 7 at 1:12 p.m. – Victim reported that an unknown person fraudulently cashed a check.
  • Theft at Brandywine Assisted Living, 700 block of Old Buck Road, on Dec. 8 at 1:37 p.m. – Over $1,000 worth of jewelry was reported missing from the victim’s room.
  • Theft at the 300 block of Hathaway Lane on Dec. 8 at 11:23 p.m. - Vehicle was entered – a handgun was stolen.
  • Vandalism at the 200 block of James Drive on Dec. 8 at 4:22 p.m. – The power cord to an inflatable holiday decoration was cut.
  • Theft at the 600 block of W. Lancaster Avenue on Dec. 10 at 10:44 a.m. – Two packages were stolen from the front of the apartment.
  • Criminal Mischief at the 400 block of Pilgrim Lane on Dec. 10 at 12:08 p.m. – Four windows had the screens torn off and appeared to have been shot with a BB gun.
  • Retail Theft at Giant, 100 block of W. Township Line Road, on Dec. 11 at 1:27 p.m. – A white male stole $135.38 worth of groceries and fled the store.

ARRESTS:

  • A white female, 61, unit block of Braeburn Road, Havertown. Charges: Endangering the welfare of children, simple assault, harassment and public drunkenness. Location: Haverford Middle School, 1700 block of Darby Road. Date: Nov. 29 at 11:30 a.m.
  • A black male, 49, 700 block of N. 63rd Street, Philadelphia. Charges: DUI. Location: West Chester Pike and Darby Road. Date: Nov. 30 at 7:37 p.m.
  • A white male, 37, 400 block of Dudley Avenue, Narberth. Charges: Possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Location: 600 block of Dayton Road. Date: Dec. 6 at 12:37 a.m.
  • A white male, 25, 1300 block of Virginia Avenue, Havertown. Charges: DUI. Location: 500 block of Darby Road. Date: Dec. 8 at 12:14 a.m.
  • A black male, 25, 2400 block of Gianna Drive, Glassboro, NJ. Charges: Possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Location: Haverford and Avon Roads. Date: Dec. 8 at 6:02 a.m.
  • A white male, 14 was petitioned to juvenile court. Charges: Simple assault and harassment. Location: Haverford High School, 200 block of Mill Road. Date: Dec. 10 at 1:41 p.m.
