Identity Theft, Vandalism, DUI, Drugs: Haverford Crime Blotter

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Haverford Township issued their weekly crime blotter recently.

The blotter includes incidents that occurred between Feb. 23 and March 7.

Arrests made and citations issued are also featured in the blotter.

INCIDENTS

• Fraud at the 400 block of Sagamore Road on Feb. 23 at 11:15 a.m. – Victim reported that someone removed over $2,000 from her bank account.
• Retail Theft at Lowe’s, 100 block of West Township Line Road, on Feb. 24 at 7:45 a.m. – An unknown female stole $2,484 worth of merchandise.
• Fraud at the 100 block of Brentwood Road on Feb. 24 at 11:39 a.m. – Victim reported that someone gained access to his American Airlines account and used 120,000 miles and used approximately $5,000 worth of hotel stays at the Ritz Carlton.
• Retail Theft at Wawa, unit block of E Eagle Road, on Feb. 25 at 5:33 p.m. – A group of unknown males stole various snack items and fled the stores.
• Retail Theft at Kohl’s, 200 block of West Chester Pike, on Feb. 27 at 4:26 p.m. – An unknown female stole $585.49 worth of merchandise.
• Identity Theft at the unit block of Marple Road on Feb. 27 at 7:08 p.m. – Victim reported that someone used his identity to open a Verizon account.
• Identity Theft at the 400 block of Rittenhouse Circle on Feb. 28 at 1:45 p.m. – Victim reported that someone used his wife’s identity to withdraw $500 from their bank account.
• Criminal Mischief at the 2900 block of Haverford Road on March 2 at 11:39 a.m. – Vehicle was egged.
• Theft at the 2000 block of Old West Chester Pike on March 3 at 3:40 p.m. – A purse was reported missing from the victim’s room.
• Attempted Theft at the 200 block of Valley Ridge Road on March 3 at 1:30 p.m. – Victim reported that he received a call from someone claiming to be from Social Security Administration. They advised him that he was the victim of identity theft and his identity was used to commit crimes all over the country. He was told to withdraw $10,000 and send as a show of good faith to get him off the criminal list. The bank recognized the scam and the victim did not sustain any financial loss.
• Retail Theft at Wawa, 1000 block of Darby Road, on March 4 at 7:28 p.m. – An unknown female stole a half a dozen eggs and fled the store.
• Vandalism at the 2600 block of Darby Road on March 4 at 8:52 p.m. – Residence was egged.
• Identity Theft at the unit block of Meadows Lane on March 5 at 12:49 p.m. – Victim reported that someone used her identity to open a bank account.
• Retail Theft at Giant, 100 block of West Township Line Road, on March 6 at 5 p.m. – An unknown male stole over $200 worth of groceries and fled the store.
• Retail Theft at Giant, 100 block of West Township Line Road, on March 6 at 2:16 p.m. – 42-year-old female, 300 block of Cherry Lane, Havertown was cited for the retail theft of $112.91 worth of merchandise.
• Identity Theft at the 1600 block of Earlington Road on March 6 at 11:17 a.m. – Victim reported that someone used his identity to open a credit card account.
• Theft of Services at AQ Wireless, 100 block of West Chester Pike, on March 6 at 5:07 p.m. – Two unknown males came into the store to get their i-phone repaired. The repair was complete and the subjects left with the phone without paying the $90 owed.
• Theft at Hollow Run Apartments, 1900 block of West Chester Pike, on March 7 at 8:03 p.m. – Victim reported $1,210 missing from her dresser drawer.

ARRESTS

• 49-year-old male, Homeless Charges: Retail theft, receiving stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia. Location: Rite Aid, 1300 block of West Chester Pike. Date: Feb. 25 at 7:09 p.m.
• 29-year-old female, 2300 block of Darby Road, Havertown Charges: Possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Location: Eagle Towers, 2300 block of Darby Road. Date: March 3 at 12:53 a.m.
• 43-year-old male, 1200 block of Roosevelt Drive, Havertown Charges: DUI, operating vehicle without ignition interlock, careless driving and improper sun screening. Location: Township Line Road and West Chester Pike. Date: March 4 at 7:19 a.m.
