Slew Of Thefts, Political Sign Vandalism Reported In Haverford

Haverford Police said numerous thefts from vehicles and damage to political signs occurred within the last week throughout the township.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Haverford Township are reporting numerous thefts and vandalism of political signs throughout the township over the past week.

According to police, nearly two dozen theft incidents occurred over the past week.

Of the thefts, 19 were from vehicles, and of those vehicle thefts 17 happened where vehicles were unlocked, police said.

Two other thefts occurred, one at West Gate Nursing home in which money was stolen from a room and one on Virginia Avenue in which political signs were stolen.

  • 900 block of Larchmont Avenue on Oct. 28 at 9:36 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered; laptop was stolen.
  • Westgate Nursing Home, 2000 block of Old West Chester Pike, on Oct. 28 at 11:30 a.m. – Victim reported that a large amount of money was stolen from her room.
  • 100 block of Upland Road on Oct. 29 at 5:52 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered; nothing was reported missing.
  • 100 block of Sycamore Road on Oct. 29 at 9:13 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered; loose change and a bracelet was stolen.
  • 200 block of Washington Avenue on Oct. 29 at 5:02 p.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered; prescription medication and $16 was stolen.
  • 1200 block of Garfield Road on Oct. 29 at 5:18 p.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered; loose change was stolen.
  • 1200 block of Garfield Road on Oct. 29 at 9:01 p.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered; nothing was reported missing.
  • 600 block of Grand Avenue on Oct. 31 at 3:46 p.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered; $25 was stolen from a wallet.
  • 500 block of Howell Lane on Nov. 1 at 9:53 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered; a purse containing credit cards, driver’s license, social security card and $30 was stolen.
  • unit block of Jacalyn Drive on Nov. 1 at 9:44 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered; a case of DVD’s was stolen.
  • 1700 block of Josie Lane on Nov. 1 at 12:42 p.m. – Vehicle was entered; loose change was stolen.
  • unit block of Jacalyn Drive on Nov. 1 at 8:22 a.m. – Vehicle was entered; $100 was stolen.
  • 1700 block of Josie Lane on Nov. 1 at 10:17 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered; a tote bag was stolen.
  • 1700 block of Josie Lane on Nov. 1 at 3:55 p.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered; key fob was stolen.
  • 1700 block of Josie Lane on Nov. 1 at 9:01 a.m. – Two unlocked vehicles were entered; nothing was reported missing.
  • 1800 block of Robinson Avenue on Nov. 1 at 10:45 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered; loose change was stolen.
  • unit block of Jacalyn Drive on Nov. 1 at 9:44 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered; nothing was reported missing.
  • 100 block of Fairlamb Avenue on Nov. 2 at 7:23 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered; loose change was stolen.
  • 800 block of Robinson Avenue on Nov. 2 at 7:50 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – nothing was reported missing.
  • 1300 block of Virginia Avenue on Nov. 3 at 4 p.m. – Political signs were stolen.
  • 1900 block of Melrose Avenue on Nov. 3 at 12:28 p.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered; loose change was stolen.

Additionally, six cases of political signs being damaged occurred over the past week, all occurring along Greenview Lane on Oct. 29, police said.

  • 400 block of Greenview Lane at 8:26 a.m.
  • 400 block of Greenview Lane at 8:42 a.m.
  • 300 block of Greenview Lane at 8:55 a.m.
  • unit block of Greenview Lane at 9:10 a.m.
  • unit block of Greenview Lane at 9:13 a.m.
