Two Haverford Fire Companies Get $28K In Grants
The Fire Company and Emergency Medical Service Grant Program awarded more than $28,000 to two fire companies in the township.
HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — More than $28,000 in grant funding has been awarded to two Haverfod Township fire companies.
State Rep. Mike Zabel, D-Delaware, announced $28,239 in state grants have been awarded to Bon Air and Manoa fire companies in Havertown.
Through the Fire Company and Emergency Medical Service Grant Program, first responders can use the funding for construction or renovation of facilities and fixtures, maintenance and improvements for service capabilities, purchase or repair of equipment, purchase of fuel for company vehicles, plus training and education.

"What our first responders provide for us on a daily basis is not only crucial, it’s heroic," Zabel said. “I’m grateful to the Pennsylvania Office of the State Fire Commissioner and all who assisted in securing funding that ultimately helps save lives."
Zabel noted that recipients still need to complete and return original signed copies of the grant agreements by May 31 in order to receive the funding.
