Upper Darby Woman Charged With Stabbing, Choking Roommate: Reports

The victim told officials her roommate stabbed her four times with a kitchen knife after trying to choke her earlier, a report said.

UPPER DARBY, PA — Officials say an Upper Darby woman tried to strangle, and then stabbed, a woman she lived with according to a report.

Court records show Ivanna M. Giunta, 28, is charged with first-degree aggravated assault and several other charges, including strangulation and reckless endangerment, for an incident May 14.

Her bail is set at 10 percent of $100,000, according to the Delaware County Daily Times.

The alleged victim told officials Giunta came into her basement bedroom and began choking her that morning while accusing her of "putting her children on the Internet," according to the Delco Times.

After Giunta stopped and left the room, the victim said went back to sleep, the report said. Around 11:45 a.m. while the victim was watching television, she told officials Giunta came back in her room and stabbed her with a kitchen knife four times, according to the report.

Her next court appearance, a formal arraignment, is scheduled for Aug. 10 according to court records. She is being held in Delaware County Prison.
