Police Officer Retiring After 35 Years In Horsham

HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA —Horsham Township Police Lt. John Potts is calling it a career.

Potts was honored for his 35 years of service to the township during Horsham Township Council's meeting on Wednesday night. The council recognized Potts with a certificate for his dedication to the community.

Potts started his career with the Horsham Township Police Department in 1989.

During his tenure, Potts served as First Aid/CPR instructor, Firearms' Instructor, Accreditation Manager, Patrol Supervisor, and SWAT team member. He was also a graduate of the FBI National Academy.

"He's been a friend and mentor to so many both inside and outside of the department and we will truly miss him," Horsham Community Police Services said Thursday.

Meanwhile, Horsham ChATs also paid tribute to Nick Zollo recently.

For more than 25 years, Zollo has been a fixture at Meetinghouse Road and Moreland Avenue, working to keep children in the Hatboro-Horsham School District safe.

Zollo is retiring from his crossing guard duties.

"On behalf of all of us here in Community Police Services, we thank you Nick for your nearly three decades of service to our community and to our children," Horsham ChATs said. "We wish you a long and happy retirement."
