At the end of last Wednesday's council meeting, Nesbitt announced his resignation, stating he needed to devote time to his work as a trial lawyer and could not serve any longer to the best of his abilities.
Nesbitt spent 19 years on the council. The fourth-generation resident has lived in the township for nearly 50 years.
