PayByPhone, HonkMobile parking apps now accepted for Lancaster city metered parking (lancasteronline.com) — Parking in Lancaster city just got more flexible, as the Lancaster Parking Authority now accepts HonkMobile and PayByPhone alongside ParkMobile for about 1,100 downtown meters. You'll still pay 25 cents per six minutes, but each app adds its own small convenience fee, giving drivers more choices when paying for on‑street parking around town.
   

2. Homeless encampment cleared in Lancaster Township after delayed removal (wgal.com) — A homeless encampment along North Conestoga Drive in Lancaster Township was cleared Monday morning after officials extended the removal deadline from September 11 to September 21. Township police coordinated with city crews and the county homelessness coalition, while displaced residents described the emotional toll of repeatedly dismantling their makeshift homes and uncertainty about what comes next.
   

3. Lancaster City police identify man arrested after early morning standoff (wgal.com) — Lancaster City police arrested Bobby White after an hours-long early morning standoff at a home in the 500 block of West Orange Street, where he initially refused to come out. Officers, seeking him on child endangerment and simple assault charges from a prior incident, repeatedly ordered him to surrender before obtaining a warrant and taking him into custody without further incident.
   

4. $280,000 grant boosts fiber-optic education at Lancaster, regional tech schools (lancasteronline.com) — A new $280,000 state grant will bring rotating fiber‑optic training labs to Lancaster County Career & Technology Center and eight partner schools, starting as early as 2027. Local secondary students and adults will get 40 hours of hands‑on instruction and a free industry‑recognized certification exam, preparing them for in‑demand broadband and data‑center jobs across central Pennsylvania.
