5 Lansdale Catholic Students To Be Honored As 'Distinguished Scholars'
The Archdiocese of Philadelphia will honor several students at private schools in the local area as "distinguished scholars."

LANSDALE, PA — The Archdiocese of Philadelphia will honor several students at private schools in the local area as "distinguished scholars."
Students will be recognized at the upcoming 38th Annual Academic Honors Convocation, which will held at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Philadelphia.
The event will honor 155 students at Catholic schools in the region who were ranked in the elite top three percent of their class at the end of their senior year.

“(This) time-honored tradition gives us...the opportunity to commend and honor students on their hard work and diligence in the beautiful setting of the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, the mother church of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia," said Sister Maureen McDermott, Superintendent for Secondary Schools. "As all l of our seniors throughout the Archdiocese of Philadelphia prepare for their Baccalaureate Masses and Commencement Exercises we offer them prayerful best wishes for a happy and successful future."
The student speaker will be Killeen McCans, a senior from Cardinal O'Hara, who will attend the University of Notre Dame next fall.

The event, which will be streamed on Facebook Live, will take place at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, May 18.
