All You Need to Know About the Lansdale Beer Fest

In less than 18 hours, you're gonna be drinking a lot of different beer

The second Lansdale Beer Fest is almost here.

And here's all you need to know.

Where is it?

Park in the Madison Parking Lot, get out and walk toward Richardson Avenue. You can't miss the banner or the white tents.

If you are walking, head to Main Street and find Richardson Avenue, located two blocks up from Cannon Avenue toward the train tracks. The beer festival is in a fenced-in area on the bend where it meets West Third Street.

How much can I drink?

Everyone gets unlimited samples with a 5-ounce cup given to you at the gate.

Is there a map of the area and parking?

Yes. You can view such a map here.

What time does it start?

VIP ticketholders should arrive by noon. Doors open at 12:15 p.m.

All other standard ticketholders can get it at 1:15 p.m.

There is no rain date.

When does it end?

The event runs until 4:15 p.m.

How many people are coming?

The organizers estimate between 1,500 and 1,600 people. The event grounds have a capacity for 2,200 people.

Anything special I should know about?

Yes. If you are a veteran of the conflicts in Iraq or Afghanistan, or if you know a veteran from these conflicts, then they could get in for free. The organizers have set aside 40 tickets to be given away to veterans. These veterans will also be given special camo T-shirts to signify them as such. Email lansdalebeerfest@yahoo.com to let them know of any veterans coming to the event.

Can I buy tickets at the gate?

Yes. Tickets are $40 cash only at the gate. Attendees can pick up tickets or purchase tickets at the door starting at 9 a.m. All attendees will get a wristband.

What’s so great about VIP?

First, you get in an hour early. Second, you get a more intimate tasting with the brewers. Third, you get to sample some rare and limited brews that won’t be available at the standard festival. Fourth, Blue Dog Tavern is catering the event with a pig roast and select appetizers to complement the brews.

Where can I get my tickets?

You can buy online until 10 p.m. today. Otherwise, you have to buy them at the gate.

 

Can I upgrade to VIP?

Yes. A limited number of tickets may be available at the gate for $70. Regular tickets can be upgraded for an additional $35.

I’m the D.D. What can I do?

You can buy a designated driver/non-drinker ticket for $10. There will be food and music to bide your time at the event.

 

Where can I park?

Parking is available at Madison Parking Lot, off West Main Street between Green Street and Wood Street.

There is a public lot at the intersection of Main Street and Susquehanna Avenue. Susquehanna Avenue is one-way and you cannot turn onto it from Main Street.

There is a second public lot at the intersection of Susquehanna Avenue and Derstine Avenue.

Can I take the train?

Yes. You want the SEPTA Lansdale/Doylestown Line Regional Rail, known as the R5. The train arrives in Lansdale on the hour, beginning at 8:14 a.m. and ending at 7:14 p.m. You can check the schedule here.

I gotta pee! What do I do? The bushes?

No. The borough and organizers DO NOT want people using nature when nature calls. There are 15 Port-a-potties on site.

Will there be music?

There will be three bands: BURN, The Fredos and Goat Hurdler. There will be DJ Darrel there as well through the entire event.

I'm too drunk to drive. Can I get a cab?

Yes. Local cab information will be available at the event.

Is there food?

Food vendors will be selling food at the event: Smoke Daddy’s BBQ, Goomba’s Pizzeria, , Big Chill Ice Cream and Righteous Pretzel.

Will there be merchandise to buy?

Yes. You can purchase swag online and pick it up at the event. There will be prairie dust-colored T-shirts, women’s aqua blue tank tops, embroidered hats and bottle opener hats, pint glasses and keychain openers. Check out all the merchandise here.

There will be 70 different brewers with beer to sample, including homebrews and microbrews. Here’s the list, with links to each brewer:


Where’s the money going?

Proceeds from the event are going to Lansdale Library, Manna on Main Street, Lansdale Farmer’s Market, The Wounded Warrior Project and Skyler Kauffman Memorial Fund.

Who’s responsible for this?

The organizers are Lansdale residents Drew Stockmal, Ray Liberto and Steve Malagari.
