In conjunction with National Safe Boating Week, Flotilla 10-6 of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary will be conducting Vessel Safety Checks near the Lake Nockamixon Marina boat ramp at Lake Nockamixon, Perkasie, PA on the weekend of May 21st and 22nd, 2011. This event is scheduled from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm each day.
A Vessel Safety Check is a voluntary examination of vessel compliance with federal and state laws; an authorized boating safety activity contributing to the Coast Guard’s recreational boating safety mission; the opportunity for the exchange of boating safety information; and, a courtesy check of safety equipment carried or installed on a boat. There is no cost associated with a vessel examination.
Flotilla 10-6 is based in Lansdale, PA and is dedicated to support the United States Coast Guard’s recreational boating safety mission in the local area.
