Indian Valley MS Is 101.1 More FM Christmas Contest Finalist

Indian Valley's Middle School choir has advanced to the finals of 101.1 More FM's annual Christmas Contest.

HARLEYSVILLE, PA -- Indian Valley Middle School won their semifinal round in 101.1 More FM's annual Christmas Contest, advancing on to the K-8 division finals.

The competition features schools from around the Philadelphia region. Choirs have their song aired on the radio, and listeners then vote for their favorite the rest of that day. The winners advance on to the final round. The K-8 finals will be held on Thursday.

Indian Valley's "It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" beat of Eleanor Rush Intermediate School and Our Lady of Good Counsel School.

They'll face off Thursday against Samuel S. Yellin Elementary and the winner of Wednesday's semifinal between Spring-Ford Middle School, Unami Middle School, and Chestnut Ridge Middle School (Vote here now. Voting closes at 9 p.m.).

Local school districts have done well lately. Namely, North Penn. Bridle Path Elementary won the K-8 division in 2017, while North Penn's Chamber Singers won the high school division last year.

The grand prize winner of 101.1 More FM's 8th Annual Christmas Choir Competition receives a $5,000 cash prize and an opportunity to perform with The Philly Pops at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia. Their music is also featured on air throughout the holidays.

There is also a high school division. Semifinalists in that division will be announced later this week.
