King Road Bridge in Salford has been shut down due to safety concerns, authorities said.

SALFORD, PA — King Road Bridge in Salford has been shut down due to safety concerns, authorities said.

The concrete slab bridge, built in 1918, was inspected by McKormick Taylor on Friday and was ordered closed by PennDOT shortly thereafter.

Repairs will soon be underway to repair the bridge. It's not yet clear how long repairs will take.

Authorities said that King Road Bridge has an average daily traffic of 44 vehicles.

Traffic is being diverted via signed detour.
