Lansdale's New Assistant Borough Manager Begins Duties
The borough now has additional manpower to take on new projects.

LANSDALE, PA -- Lansdale’s newest Assistant Borough Manager has begun his duties.
John J. Ernst began his work on January 1.
“Lansdale is very well-regarded for the range and quality of services we provide to our community and we continually work to improve our performance and streamline operations,” Lansdale Borough Manager Jake Ziegler said in a press release. “John’s experience with Lansdale has given him extensive understanding of municipal operations, making him a perfect fit for this new role. After a year of shovels hitting the ground on various projects and an expected influx of more, Borough management realized a need for additional management staff. The Assistant Manager position allows Ziegler to focus on long-range issues while Ernst assists in supervision of municipal departments and employees while continuing his current duties as Director of Community & Economic Development, the position he has held since 2010.
“Over the past six years John has shown his loyalty, intelligence and a strong work ethic,” said Council President Denton Burnell when asked about Ernst’s new role. “John has learned how the entire Borough operates, he knows all the employees and has the respect of both employees and our citizens.”

This position marks the continuation of Ernst’s established career in public service and his strong track record complements Lansdale’s commitment to building a healthy, vibrant community dedicated to the service of its citizens. John, a Temple graduate with over twenty years of experience in the Architectural field, has lived in the Borough with his family for the past twenty-five years and is ready for this new venture.
“Lansdale is a very well-run Borough with a lot of exciting initiatives underway so it’s truly an honor to be selected for this position,” stated Ernst. “This is a great community with wonderful opportunities on the horizon and I look forward to being a part of the team that continues to move us forward.”
