A man who survived a jump off the Golden Gate Bridge will speak to North Penn students about mental wellness.

LANSDALE, PA — A man who survived a jump off the Golden Gate Bridge will speak to North Penn students about mental wellness later this month.
Kevin Hines is one of only 33 individuals to have ever jumped off the famous bridge spanning the city of San Francisco and Marin County and survived. More than 1,500 have made that jump, according to school officials.
Here's what North Penn has to say about the event:

"Hines delivers an honest, yet hopeful, message to his audiences. Two years after being diagnosed with bipolar disorder, Hines, then 19, threw himself from the Golden Gate Bridge into the San Francisco Bay, but survived the 220-foot fall. Since that time, he has become a mental health advocate, speaker and author, publishing the book 'Cracked ... Not Broken: Surviving and Thriving After a Suicide Attempt.' Signed copies of this book will be available for purchase the evening of the presentation."
The event is the first of a new North Penn speaker series called "North Penn Talks," the district announced.
