Montgomeryville-Lansdale Patch Bulldogs are Lansdale Little League Champions
Despite a rough start, the team rode a miracle string of wins to secure the Major's Division title.
During the beginning of the Lansdale Little League season, the Bulldogs were steamrolled nearly every game. Night after night, the team suffered such embarrassing losses that Patch was asked to leave the final score out of our coverage of the team.
Then, something strange happened—they started winning.
Be it on the arms of Kyle Champagne and Andrew Alexander, or by Kyle Macy, Damien Dorsey and Shane Williams lighting up the scoreboard, the Bulldogs became an unstoppable force on the field, going the rest of the season without losing after an 0-9 start.

As has recently been the case, the Bulldogs jumped out to an early 3-1 lead after the first inning. The second inning went by rather quickly, though the Razorbacks scored a pair of runs, tying the game at 3-3.
Once the top of the third inning rolled around, the wheels came off of the Razorbacks, as the Bulldogs scored a run by a Quincy-Adams-bases-loaded walk, a steal of home by Andrew Alexander, and another run on a wild pitch.
In the bottom of the third, a potential scoring opportunity was laid to waste when Andrew induced a soft grounder to the mound, which he quickly turned into an inning-ending double play.
The fourth inning was highlighted by Ryan Bryson's two-run double, which was immediately followed by a two-run single by Andrew.
Entering the fifth inning, Andrew was cruising with an 11-3 lead to lean on, but as his pitch count went up, his performance dropped off a bit. He was pulled after walking in a run, and Shane Williams, who came on in relief, inherited a bases loaded, one-out situation.
Shane handled the situation with ease, ending the inning by forcing an infield popup.
Prior to the sixth inning, manager Eric Geiger tried to fire up his players in an attempt to score more runs, though the Bulldogs went down in order, bringing up the bottom of the sixth with an 11-6 cushion.
Shane returned to the mound, struck out one, then hit a rough patch, surrendering a run. Just as Geiger was looking to make a change, Shane induced a groundball, threw it to first, and just like that, the celebration began.
Each player raced to the mound, dishing out hugs and high fives. Family members rushed the field with cameras in hand, hoping to capture the perfect photo to immortalize the championship moment.
After shaking hands with the Razorbacks, Geiger praised the players for their resilience and effort, reminding them how far they had come.
"Ultimately, these guys came together and started playing like a team," said Geiger, grinning from ear to ear. "They realized that baseball isn't an individual effort, but a team effort, and this is what happens."
After the players posed for a team picture, each player received their own championship trophy. Assistant coach Scott Williams presented Patch with a trophy of our own, for the coverage and support.
Montgomeryville-Lansdale Patch congratulates the Bulldogs on their championship, as well as their miracle season. It takes a lot to crawl out of an 0-9 hole, but somehow, you guys did it! Words simply cannot express how proud we are of each and every one of you!
