North Penn 6th Grader's Hurricane Relief Work Recognized
North Penn School District sixth grader Emma Hersh did great work after Hurricane Harvey devastated

LANSDALE, PA — A North Penn School District sixth grader's efforts in assisting in hurricane relief did not go unnoticed.
Emma Hersh, who attends Gwyn-Nor Elementary School, helped the school raise $800 to support the Houston community in the wake of the devastation left by Hurricane Harvey.
The August storm caused about $200 billion in damage, killing 91 and displacing tens of thousands of residents.

The funds were sent to Moore Elementary School, where former Gwyn-Nor students Georgina Tannous-Baba and Mia Tannous now teach, according to North Penn.
To thank Emma and her teacher, Karen Scioli, Georgina and Mia sent the pair over a pair of "Texas Strong" t-shirts.

The $800 was used to replace much needed school supplies and clothing for the school community after the hurricane.
