North Penn Celebrates 'American Education Week'

"The weeklong event celebrates public education and honors individuals who are making a difference in the lives of children."

LANSDALE, PA – American Education Week kicked off on Monday, November 14 and the North Penn School District has planned a series of events in observance.

Each year in November, the North Penn School District and school districts throughout the United States observe American Education Week. This weeklong event is celebrated from November 14 to November 18 and offers an opportunity for North Penn parents and community members to celebrate public education.

The national theme is, "Great Public Schools: A Basic Right and Our Responsibility."

“I strongly encourage parents to participate in American Education Week,” Curt Dietrich, Superintendent of NPSD, said in a statement.. “It is your tax dollar hard at work providing an education to our nearly 13,000 students who year after year, achieve the North Penn School District’s rank as one of the best school districts academically in the county and state.”

During the week, many schools in the North Penn School District will welcome visitors to see first-hand the great education taking place, the district said.
