North Penn To Host Internet Safety Discussion

"It is more important than ever for families to understand the consequences of our social media and internet decisions."

LANSDALE, PA -- The North Penn School District will host an Internet safety discussion for families of students in fourth grade and above on Monday, May 1 at 10 a.m.

The event will take place at 401 E. Hancock Street in Lansdale at the Educational Services Center.

Officials said it is a follow-up to the meeting held earlier in the year.

Online bullying has had tragic consequences in middle schools and high schools around the nation.

"As social media becomes more present in our lives, including the use of Chromebooks in our North Penn classrooms in grades six through nine, it is more important than ever for families to understand the consequences of our social media and internet decisions."

Superintendent Curtis Dietrich, and Director Technology Kristen Landis will be on hand to discuss questions and concerns related to social media usage.
