North Penn School District Named To AP Honor Roll
North Penn is in elite company. It's among 447 school districts nationwide to be included in the 8th Annual Honor Roll.

LANSDALE, PA — North Penn School District has been named to the College Board's AP District Honor Roll, recognizing achievement in Advanced Placement courses.
The district is one of five schools in Montgomery County, 43 in Pennsylvania, and 447 nationwide to be included on the eighth annual list.
The Honor Roll recognizes schools that increase access to the tests for underrepresented students, while also increasing how many students earn scores of at least 3 or higher (the tests are scored 1 to 5).

In order to be named to the honor roll, school districts had to improve participation in AP exams by four percent in large districts, six percent in medium districts, and eleven percent in large districts. They also needed to increase or maintain the percentage of minorities taking the exam and scoring 3 or higher. Finally, they needed to increase the percentage of students overall who scored a 3 or higher - unless 70 percent of students had already achieved that score or higher in a previous year.
In Montgomery County, only Lower Merion and Spring-Ford were repeat honorees from 2016. The 2016 Honor Roll featured just three Montco schools: Abington, Lower Merion, and Spring-Ford.
This year, more than 4,000 colleges and universities around the world received AP scores for college credit, advanced placement, or both, and/or consideration in the admissions process. Inclusion in the 8th Annual AP District Honor Roll is based on a review of three years of AP data, from 2015 to 2017, looking across 38 AP Exams, including world language and culture.
