Wawa Hoagiefest: Bristol Police Make 20 In 3 Minutes At Store Opening

Wawa opened its new Levittown store with a Hoagies for Heroes competition between Bristol Township Police and Levittown Fire Company No. 2.

LEVITTOWN, PA —They really are hoagie heroes.

With Thursday's grand opening of the new Wawa on 3800 Bristol Oxford Valley Road, bragging rights were on the line between the Bristol Police Department and Levittown Fire Company No. 2 in Wawa's Hoagies for Heroes program.

The competition, the police department said, was fierce.

"Although our hoagie crafting opponents made several attempts to throw the competition AND their hoagie ingredients, Bristol Township Police were able to bring home the winners trophy by making 20 total Shorti hoagies in three minutes," the department posted on its Facebook page.

The department received a $1,000 check for a charity of their choice to make a contribution.

Wawa's Hoagies for Heroes program supports local firefighters, police officers and emergency responders. To celebrate their commitment to the communities that Wawa serves, Wawa holds Hoagies for Heroes hoagie-building contests as part of Wawa’s milestone events, such as store grand openings. These charity fundraising contests benefit the charities of choice of the participating everyday heroes.
