As they have for the past 18 years, Rita's is observing the by giving away a free regular-size Italian ice to every visitor until 9:00pm tonight.
Last year, temperatures in the 70s helped Rita's stores across the region give away 1.3 million ices. The nippy air seems likely to eat into that total this year, but hey. Free is free, right?
