Suspect Threatening To Shoot Police Nabbed In "High Risk" Limerick Arrest
The Chester Montgomery Emergency Response Team was activated to assist with the "high-risk" arrest of a man threatening to shoot police.

The Chester Montgomery Emergency Response Team (CMERT) was activated to assist with the “high-risk” arrest of an armed man Wednesday afternoon who suffers from mental illness and drug abuse, according to the Limerick Township Police Department.
The incident began some time in the early afternoon when the County Provation Officer went to check on a client at his residence on Faust Road, police said.
The man allegedly threatened to shoot any police who came to his residence and he was reported to have a gun he obtained illegally, according to police.

That’s when CMERT was activated and surveillance was implemented around the man’s house, police said.
The man’s vehicle was later seen in Pottstown, and he was arrested on the 1200 Block of Queen Street, according to the Pottstown Mercury.

“It was a good job by everyone involved,” Limerick Police Chief Bill Albany told the Mercury. “This excessive heat is extremely trying for officers given their protective gear. We are appreciative of the time they spent safely resolving the issue.”
