
Lower Moreland students had another great year at this year's Junior Academy of Science competition at Penn State University. Receiving first place with a perfect score was seventh grader Matt Grabel. Also receiving first place were eighth graders David Grabovsky, Nadia Saleh, Alexandra Ciuciu, Alice Shvartsberg, seventh grader Tiffany Purpura, and 10th grader David Lakata.
Second place awards went to eighth graders Flori Tsipenyuk, Tom Raskay, Josh Pilchik and ninth grader Matthew Smith. Receiving a 3rd place award was 10th grader Roger Glass.

The Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science is a statewide organization of junior and senior high school students designed to stimulate and promote interest in science among its members through the development of research projects and investigations. All of the students who participated in the competition at Penn State had to receive a first place award in the local competition to advance to the state level.
