Garage Fire Strikes Steven Road Home
A large garage fire damaged a home in the 2000 block of Steven Road in Lower Moreland Friday.
No one was home at the time of the afternoon fire, which appeared to be centered in the garage of the two story home, located in the 2000 block Steven Road.
The fire was reported at 2:23 p.m., by the time Assistant Fire Chief Chuck Beaudet arrived heavy fire was shooting out of the garage, he reported to Patch.
Firefighters from multiple departments made quick work of the blaze and stopped the flames from overtaking the rest of the dwelling, Beaudet said.

After extinguishing the bulk of the fire, crews checked the rest of the home to confirm flames had not spread, said Beaudet.
The residents of the dwelling were not home at the time of the fire and arrived a short time after the flames had been quelched.

Beaudet said, most of the home suffered heavy smoke damage and was uninhabitable.
A Mercedes that was parked in the garage at the time of the fire appeared to have suffered damage and was covered with debris.
The Lower Moreland Township Fire Marshal's office is still investigating the cause of the fire, authorities reported.
Fire crews from Abington, Bryn Athyn, Rockledge, Upper Southampton and Warminster assisted the . In addition, firefighters from Hatboro and Warminster covered the township.
Today's fire was the second in the township in a week, on Monday a house fire was on Betsy Road.
