Police Log: Fires, Suspicious Persons and Skunk Shootings
The following incidents were reported by the Lower Moreland Police Department.

July 12 – Fire
- 700 block of Red Barn Rd.
The Huntingdon Valley Fire Company responded to a house fire started by a grill at 7:31 p.m. The HV and Bryn Athyn Fire Companies were on the scene to extinguish the engulfed propane grill. The grill was destroyed, but there was no damage to the home.
July 11 – Domestic Disturbance

- 3800 block of Mettler Rd.
Aisha Chughati called 911 to report a domestic dispute with her brother, Jonaad. At first she was connected to he Bucks County dispatch, but disconnected. When she received a call back from the Montgomery County dispatch, she became uncooperative and requested police not come to the house.
One police arrived, she was standing alone outside the house and claimed Jonaad pushed her and spit in her face following an argument about computer passwords. The mother, Farzana, allowed officers to search the house for Jonaad, but he was not there. The mother and sister would not elaborate on his location but told police he left the house.

July 8 – Lost/Missing Property
- 2727 Philmont Ave.
Carolyn Gaynor came to the LMPD to report missing Pennsylvania Registration Plates. Gaynor, who works at Automobili Limited, 2727 Philmont Ave., reported that 11 PA plates were being stored in a black duffel bag. She last saw the bag two weeks ago and is discovered it missing one week ago.
The plates were stored in a bag due to the fact the company moved from its former location two months ago. The registrations of all 11 plates were dead tags and cannot be used.
July 8 – Extra patrol requested
- Forrest Hills Cemetery
Forrest Hills Cemetery requested police to provide extra patrol to the cemetery, especially the mausoleum near the Philadelphia border where people have trespassed and had drinking parties. Trees and shrubbery have been removed so police have a clear view of the area.
July 8 – Suspicious Persons Report
- 800 block of Oriole Lane
Victor Martins told police he called them at 11:24 a.m. because a male subject was taking his picture while he was cutting his front lawn. Martins noticed it was the same man he had a dispute with one day earlier.
Police spoke with the other person, Glenn Randall, who was at his mother’s house, 3511 Meadowlark Dr. Randall initially said he was only taking pictures of the dogs he was walking and not Martins. Once police saw the photos he’d actually taken, Randall admitted that he took photos of Martins because he was staring at him and wanted to ‘document’ the incident. Eventually Randall agreed to take a different route while walking his dogs.
July 8 – Medical Emergency
- 600 block of Coram Rd.
Colleen Cerruti was thrown off her John Deere 240 lawn mower after she thought she had put the mower in park. The lawn mower plunged forward and threw Cerruti off the seat and she sustained various injuries including a visible wound to her head. She was treated as a trauma patient at Abington Memorial Hospital.
Officers who responded to the call at 11:17 a.m. found the mower was leaking gas onto the lawn while it was overturned. Officers contained the leaking fuel and turned the vehicle back over.
July 8 – Extra Patrol
- Discovery House – 2755 Philmont Ave.
The security guard at the Discover House requested police provide extra patrol in the back of the building Monday-Friday, due to two specific persons who visit the clinic and leave using the railroad tracks. The security guard has told the two persons to avoid the tracks, but they haven’t.
July 5 – Animal - Firearm Discharge
- 3500 block of Glenn Way
Police officers responded to Gavin Frisch’s call about a skunk on his property. Fearing his kids and dogs would be sprayed, Frisch set up a wire animal trap before police arrived. Once police got to his house, they discovered the animal had been captured in the device. The officer dispatched the animal with one buckshot round from a shotgun.
