West Whiteland Police Preparing For Eagles Parade Crowds

Police there will be limits to parking at SEPTA stations and that they will be strictly enforcing alcohol consumption laws Thursday.

WEST WHITELAND, PA – We don't have to tell you the Eagles' Super Bowl parade is all set for Thursday morning in Philadelphia. But you should know the plan that West Whiteland Police have in place for Thursday as throngs of people are expected to head into the city from the West Whiteland area to celebrate.

Police offered information on parking at SEPTA stations, how drinking in public will be handled, and more.

First, police said all local and state laws on alcohol consumption will be strictly enforced. West Whiteland and SEPTA officers will be stationed at SEPTA stops in both the morning and evening enforcing the laws.

As for parking at SEPTA stations, police said once the lots at the Exton and Whitford stations are full, police will close the area with barricades. Those taking the Regional Rail to the city are encouraged to car pool or find alternative ways to get into the city.

Any illegally-parked vehicle in the train station lots, along the roadway, in adjacent neighborhoods, or in any other posted or dangerous location, the vehicle will be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense, police said.

Police expected high volumes of pedestrian and vehicular traffic Thursday as well.

"We will have traffic signs providing updated information," police said. "Please follow the instructions on the traffic signs and obey all traffic patterns."

The parade will begin at 11 a.m. at Broad and Pattison streets and head north through the city, eventually ending at the Art Museum.
