First Degree Murder Charge Filed In Delco Teen's 2023 Deadly Stabbing

First degree murder charges have been filed in connection with the 2023 fatal stabbing of 15-year-old Michael Garr in Upper Darby.

DREXEL HILL, PA — Murder and related charges have been filed in the 2023 killing of a Delaware County teenager, according to the Delaware County District Attorney's Office and Upper Darby Police.

Delaware County authorities said first degree murder, homicide, and possession of an instrument of crime and more charge have been filed in connection with the fatal stabbing of Michael Garr, 15.

Charged is Marson Weh, 24, of Clifton Heights.

Weh has also been charged with attempted murder in connection with the Feb. 7, 2023 carjacking and stabbing of a pregnant woman in Upper Darby, authorities said.

Weh was taken into custody in Clifton Heights just 11 days after Garr's killing, but was extradited to Ohio after police learned he had a warrant there for vehicle theft and assault, according to authorities. He was sentenced to more than 9 years in prison in Ohio after being found guilty of those crimes, authorities said.

DNA analysis taken from the Clifton Heights home Weh was seen at tied him to both incidents in Delaware County, law enforcement said.

He will be extradited to Delaware County to answer to murder and related crimes in connection with the February and April incidents.

Garr was stabbed to death on at about 9:30 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2023 on the 200 block of Bridge Street in Drexel Hill, Upper Darby Police said.

District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer said Garr was attacked at random while walking in his own neighborhood.

Police were looking for two people of interest in connection with the teen's death as they were seen in the area at the time of the incident, but authorities did not learn any new information after speaking with them.

A third person of interest was also identified, but again no new information was gleaned.

A $10,000 reward was offered by the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 27 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the Upper Darby High School student's killing.
